I have a hi-def video in 1920x1080 progressive...this vid is encoded in WMV9 & audio is DTS.

i have tried a bunch video players (MPC, Zoom Player PRO WMV, BSplayer PRO, VLC, MP10, PowerDVD), but video plays (on most of them) more like a slide-show than a video....:D (audio sounds to be smooth though)

the config i'm trying play it on is :-

s939 athlon 64 3500+ on a gigabyte ga-k8n51gfm-9 mobo with an all in wonder x1800 xl & 2 gb ram using on-board sound...

is this config not enuf to play a 1080p wmv vid ?

any help with this would be appreciated....:)

It isnt H.264 is it? Coz i thought only those needed serious CPU power to playback at a good framerate, supposedly X2 or better

I have played 1080p H.264 videos smoothly without any problems.

The trick for H.264 is 'Haali Media Splitter'...thats all you need...

I am pretty sure that the video is WMV9

^^There is some issue with updated wmp and the new drivers. Roll back to the initial revisions of WMP and it works fine for me.
