Hello members, Greetings from Delhi and Kangra! It's good to be back at TE, and my current tech interests are Linux, Single Board Computers, Home HiFi Audio (Raspberry Pi-based streaming and vinyl/analogue) and Network Attached Storage. Looking forward to learning and sharing, -testsubjectalpha

The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus Thread.

A relative was coming from America, and brought it along. The best place right now is https://play.google.com/store/devices , since prices at Amazon and Newegg are higher.

The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus Thread.

Hey Pat, I just got my Nexus a couple of days ago. Yes, it is a remarkable device, and even more so since I upgraded from a Nokia S40 circa 2007. I'm still running stock, so will be tuning into the discussion here for reviews and recommendations. What about accessories for this - it...

    Linux Linux internals / troubleshooting

Hey all... This is a follow-up / parallel conversation to the Linux DVDs thread and my post on boot errors in it. Can any of you suggest a book about troubleshooting Linux issues? Something that details how the OS works, what the boot sequence/process is, how to gather data, what to look for...

    Linux Linux DVDs

Vishal, typing "install" at the "boot: " prompt gives an error ("could not find kernel image: install") to the default one. After mounting the ISO (first in Windows, then inside an Ubuntu VM), I looked inside its "isolinux" directory. Despite being the same size (366 bytes), my ISO's...

    Linux Linux DVDs

It's an ISO. I've made a VM in VirtualBox with the following settings: Type: Linux, Version: RedHat Mem: 512mb (RAM), 64mb (Display) Boot: CD/DVD, then HDD Storage: Primary Master = CentOS.vdi (4gb) Storage: 2ndary Master = CentOS.iso (chained using VBox's Virtual Media Manager) Network...

    Linux Linux DVDs

ILUG-D is quite sedate - atleast, that's the impression I have from the website. I managed to get my hands on the CentOS 5.4 DVD!! Loaded it via VirtualBox, but I'm getting the following error message while booting: "could not find kernel image: linux." Preliminary googling says there's a...

    Linux Linux DVDs

@Gaurish: Thanks for the Ebay pointer. A couple of sellers are offering nice deals there. @Vishal: Zyxware looks great! There's a LinuxBazar.com (in Delhi, I think) but they've priced CentOS DVDs at 600rs :0 :-( It's strange that ILUG-Delhi is quite inactive these days - or maybe that action...

    Linux The Linux Hater Returns

Anyone here tuning in to the "iPad is closed and tyrannical" threads? There's a lot on their margins about openness and freedom.

    Linux Linux DVDs

I've previously requested and received Ubuntu CDs but they've "blacklisted" me now :-) Something on the lines of "give others a chance also!" Need these for a project/platform I'm implementing/deploying for someone else, where the extra stuff on the DVD is necessary. No problems in downloading...
