Hi everyone
I am going to sell my car so I took off the car music system which is not going with car. Now as its lying in house I am thinking to use it at my home. The problem is to provide it 12v power. So I got an idea to use it with 12v AC-DC adapter(It has only 1.5amp). I used it and it worked but i thought I should check some more details before something goes wrong:S . So now after goggling around I found PSU too can be used as adapter has very low amp it might blow. I wanna ask can I use my Iball 400W Psu with it or I have inverter as well at home it has 135mah battery can I use it? Is there any sort of risk I mean can battery power kill a human being?
Music System specification-
Amplifier- Alpine 5400W max output.
Subwoofer- Bass tube JBL 1000W.
Speakers- 2x440W. 4ohm
Thanks

I am sure ot will run. Many people run Car music systems on Simple Battery eliminators. I would just recommend you check the power requirements though just to be on the safe side.
And if a 1.5 A adapter can power it, than a 400w PSU with like 15-16A of power will easily suffice.

Well Frankly first thing.NO the car battery wouldnt kill you but why do you want a car battery when a Common PSU will run you Amp,Speakers.Save the battery.
Moreever you amp have fuse inbuilt so if you do it care fully it will run without damage to the amp.And on iball no worries cuz i have already ran my Alpine Amp on an iball PSU before i went corsair way.
Just Do this.

But one thing. If you dont get the sound as good as you got in the car its not the setup fault rather the room acoustics are totally different from that of car.
Post few pictures when you have done with the thing.Would love to check on it !

Most cheap PSUs are not rated for long-term continuous use on their outputs at full capacity.
A cheap SMPS will have real current capacity of about 5-6 amperes continuous capability.
Since you do not have *just* a small HU and are planning to run subwoofers and power amps, you will need a very beefy power supply. Something that can do about 30-40 amperes *continuously* on the 12V rails. (40 amps x 12V - 500 watt).
It may work, but it may be hazardous to the supply or the equipment or both. Be careful.
