I'm planning to buy Swift in a week and need advice on the following.
All the dealers I checked with, told me that I should buy and get installed the ICE and central locking from them(maruti dealers) only. Reason - 3rd party accessories shops cut the wire harness, that voids warranty.
Having said that, it is quite understandable - their prices will be more than the market rates.
I am confused.

What model are you going for?
A Zxi comes with the features from the factory.
You can speak to a Maruti Service Master in your city and verify this, instead of talking to the dealer, as it should not really VOID the warranty, unless it is a really shoddy job.

get it done from a reputed shop where they use the proper harness instead of cutting wires. I have seen a few installs on team bhp where it was done properly

I am planning to buy VXi. Frankly speaking I am not convinced by dealer's argument; for I think the car is old enough. Any reputed accessories shop should be able to do it properly.
I live in North West Delhi. If any one of you is aware of good shops around do let me know.
Thanks for the inputs.

Most of the installers take the short cut and cut the wires. Make sure they use the proer wiring harness and you are set to go. Ask around in a few shops locally

The dealer is giving you loads of crap, you can safely install ICE and central locking from outside without voiding warranty if done properly.
Avoid karol bagh and local shops in particular, they tend to do a lot of 'juggad'.
Good proffessional places I know are Driven in EOK and Gyro in Moti Bagh.

Buy a central locking system from where u can get at cheap price and get it installed by them at NAraina Company owned Service centre. One of my frnd did the same without voiding the warranty.
P.S. you first have to confirm abt the model they use (autocop 99.9%) before buying and taking it there.

Thats normal with almost all dealers. They scare you with all this BS. As mentioned by Bottle above, get the install done from a reputed store so that you dont need to worry.
Even i got my setup done from outside and its been almost 2.5 Years now and no issues whatsoever.
