MSI is a name which has been present in India for a very long time now, along side ASUS and Gigabyte, especially when it comes to motherboards. Slowly and steadily, as its competitors have evolved their product lineup, they are doing the same. Their new “Lightning Series” of graphics cards may not register with all but I can tell you that it will soon if they keep up the great work they have done with the same.

What I am presenting here on their behalf today is something I expected a long time ago from MSI. MSI in past 2-3 years have come up with one of the best factory overclocked cards. Higher clock speeds than reference cards, greater OCing headroom and low failure rate is nothing short of commendable. Call me biased if you like but the first time i went extreme cooling on a GPU was with a MSI 8800GT OC edition and was able to run tests at 950MHz to 1000MHz under LN2 with vGPU-mod. So I do believe that they make good cards. With "Lightning Series" what they decided to do is up the game, for themselves and everyone else, with complete redesigns and using the best components out there.

Enough talk. Let the pictures speak!

[BREAK=Personal Take]

I hate to repeat myself but I have no option. So here it goes

This card has everything most enthusiasts want in theirs.
- a beautifully designed and aesthetically appealing card with the “we-all-so-love” black PCB.
- excellent build quality, very good power management design and components
- great cooling with less noise, very good for an actively cooled card..
- a good software utility, MSI Afterburner, for that perfect control of gpu parameters.
- already in the GTX285 performance range and I am sure enthusiasts will explore more

Finally, I agree that the age of "DirectX 11" is here and soon we will see a solution form NVIDIA as well but this card does not disappoint when it comes to running games even at "Very High" to "Ultra" standards.

Last but not the least, many thanks to MSI Taiwan for this awesome card!!!
