Got the Following Config
XII 240
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H
Kingston 2 gb ram
WD 500 GB HD
Samsung dvd writer
Sony Blu-Ray ROM drive
Gigabyte 460W Superb PSU
AOC F22 monitor
need a UPS for this rig which will handle a moderate amount of voltage variation
and provide automatic shutdown when battery runs out.
Should also have software monitoring for UPS
Any suggestions ?

will the APC 800va shutdown the PC automatically when the power goes off?
I dont need backup time, just that the pc should be shut down automatically when the power goes off
another thing does a UPS protect the pc against voltage fluctuation?

yes,get the one with the usb connector, then you could control it using the software provided by APC its called powerchute.
Yes,You can shut it down automatically
If theres too much fluctuation get a stabiliser

The BR1000IN - 600W could be enough else there is BR1500IN - 865W.
Both have USB connectivity for monitoring & can shut down as per settings via Powerchute. Also u can even add external battery packs (cost almost as much as a new unit :S) to extend battery time
@Arun - Hows the AOC F22 ?? Thinking about getting it. Cant decide if Samsung 2233 / F22. How much is it?

i got it at 8500 from lamington road and i think its better than the 2233sw
but it depends on person to person
check out both monitors with text, graphics and movies and then decide
