I have been always uncomfortable with the idea of not seeing something physically and just ordering it online . (DELL) And since I know this is India :bleh: At least I can see a Compaq in person. Although Vostro A860 is a few thousand rupees cheaper than Compaq CQ 40 - 327 TU it is the customer care of dell that worries me. How is the customer care of HP ? Any advice please ?
What to go for ? Dell Vostro A860, Inspiron 15 or a Compaq CQ 40 - 327 TU model ?

CC of dell is way better than hp.
even i have been always uncomfortable with the idea of not seeing something physically and just ordering it online.
i wanted to see it myself before ordering
and my 1st laptop itself was a dell inspiron 1525 orederd online without actually seeing it,
and dell didnt disappoint at all
dell is way better than hp
get the vostro A860.:P

Now you can see some of the Dell's models at croma and other Dell experience zone. Also many retailers are also keeping Dell's laptop.

while hp-compaq customer care is not great as dell is reputed to be, i never had a bad experince with them when i dealt with them two times for friends.
you dont have the convenience of having them pick up the laptop, but well, i prefer a actual service center where i can get hold of people.
i am using a compaq cq60-104tu and am pretty happy with it

I Have a Very Very Bad Experience with HP-Compaq Service for Notebook.
And Dell is excellent and that too onsite.

vostro A860 is a buisness series laptop very sturdy for 32-33k
i think u shud get inspiron 15 as it has better mulltimedia features for an average home user,
it wud be around ~35k

inspiron 15 is 37,990 without carry bag. so add another 2k for a good laptop bag and its 40k right there. not to mention the externl speakers which i will need to buy. lets see. there is not much diff in the vostro n inspiron onfig except for HDD i think and screen size. neway thanks. will check out.:)
