I went for a demo of the Telome TS10x 5.1 speakers and founf them to be pretty good. Price - 18000 incl installation.
My friends suggesed the JBL SCS 140 speakers which should cost approx the same. I'll be going for a demo of the same sometime soon.
Till then any of you with a suggestion?
I'm told JBL is selling a Harmon Kardon Receiver and the JBL SCS 140 5.1 speaker set for 30,000 as a package. Seems like a good deal.

That package cost me 25K, 5 months ago. I got the Pioneer receiver, Jediknight who bought after me got the HK (same price). I prefer the 140 to the Telome any day of the week. The sub is a proper downfiring type instead of the bandpass box of the Telome, and the satellites are proper two-ways. They suck for music, but do a decent job in games and are usable in movies. I got them only for gaming.

My purpose for the HT is watching movies and a bit of music. No gaming needs.
So Telome or JBL?

Sumaria.
You'll have to push hard. They normally peg the price at 30K and not come down below that, but it helps to push. This is an old package.
The package will work for movies, if you're not too finicky about sound quality they will pass for music.

and a Philips DVD player thrown in as well. And the price IIRC is well below 25K.
BTW you have bumped a 6 month old thread.
