Intel Atom has been getting much traction from board vendors after its successful launch since early last year. This can be evidenced from various boards being developed and made available for commercial market. While netbook and nettop market remain to be the main focus, embedded market continues to grow with great push and collaboration from board vendors. Just recently, Congatec has unveiled its new COM (Computer on Module) powered by Intel processor with further enhancement in terms of graphics and memory modules.
Named as Conga-BA945, it is the successor of Conga-CA945 released by this company in less than a year ago. The platform is powered by Intel Atom N270 clocking at 1.6GHz coupled with Intel 945GSE chipset that combine both southbridge and northbridge into one. Unlike other previous platforms, this new platform is claimed to be able to support up to 4GB RAM, which makes the whole platform Windows Vista capable. Besides, its built in graphics core clock has been scaled up from 166MHz to 200MHz that is able to boost up graphics performance by 50 percent as compared to previous solutions. Other features include PCI-E expansion slots, eight USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet port, two SATA (Serial ATA) and one PATA (Parallel ATA) port besides supporting dual independent display through SDVO and LVDS interfaces.
Conga-BA is compatible with various OS (Operating Systems) ranging from Windows XP/XP Embedded, Windows CE, QNX and Linux.

Source... links... more information... where?
I'm in process of finalizing components for my home-server and I have already zeroed down Atom dual-core board D945GCLF2. The only gripe I have with this board is just two SATA ports.. and I can't see any other boards of same platforms from other manufacturers.
