Not sure as to have many of you HTC PPC / SP users have had the necessity for the phone to be serviced. But pray that you dont !! Sad but true - HTCs service is just pathetic. Its been 3 weeks now that I gave my 2.5 month old S710 for service and neither the service center nor customer care know the ETA for the spare (The board has conked off). Any other users who have had better or worse experience in getting a HTC phone serviced, please post here.

I have misplaced the HTC handsfree, when I tried to get a new one, it was not available in any of the stores. Then I contacted the HTC's service center, they have informed that its not available with them and that I can get accessories only from the dealers. When I contacted the dealer, they claimed that it can be bought only through the service center. So called customer care office in Delhi (had to make STD calls to Delhi), they told to contact the service center :( .
Pathetic.
All I can say is "STAY AWAY FROM HTC"

I had expected that. I am not surprised. When I had bought HTC S620, I was well aware that tis is a gamble and that if the phone conks off you are on your own. Thats why I never hesitated to flash my phone as that will void its warranty. However I am more than happy with my phone. Its powerful/light/sleek compared to other Nokia/SE phones. No! thats not my imagination but the complements from the actual owners.
Reasons may be:
1. Not too many out there dare for Windows phone. They have never seen its adv., never heard anybody talking about it, hence not comfortable. For most of us here, phone means a camera plus an mp3 player, nobody ever thinks of them as a powerful processor. In HTC, cpu speed starts at 200Mhz wherease in Nokia thats where it ends in.
2. With such low customers, providing servicing can be understandably expensive.
3. You wont face the same issue in europe as these phones are in great numbers there. Nokia is still struggling out there.
Of course these are my interpretation. Also please be aware that Nokia with there great numbers of customers are not providing great service either, I had a direct experience of that and of course huge numbers of postings on various BB are proof of that.

I've had my HTC Touch for I guess 6-7 months and never had any problems, so haven't had to deal with the customer service. I'm damn happy with the phone itself though. As long as you know how to use WM phones properly, they're awesome.

My issue isn't with HTC but with the Company to which service authority is given to.

Honestly, service centres need to learn manners and company should keep some standards on people who service their products.

SE is atleast good , they are slow take 10 - 15 days , but u dont have to visit them again n again . they call u and tell you when the spare has come in or what ever :D . nokia sucks big time , their service centers look like govt office millions of people as if having damaged cell phones
