my requirement : [WTB] GeForce 6200 OR equivalent PCI card
I need a Geforce 6200 OR its equivalent PCI grafix card
for a student's old computer [intel D845GVSR] . 10 days
testing warranty would be expected . any offer please ..
reference : PCI Graphics Card Upgrade for Intel D845GVSR
... a GeForce 6200 256MB DDR PCI Graphics Card is suitable for your PC ...

made a search on the TE forums
and found that member Sanjeet has one 6200 card for sale
I was communicating with him thru PMs. meanwhile he has
come-up with a DDR1 512MB RAM for sale along with other
I approached him again thru PM
he agreed for 5 days testing warranty & sent the card & RAM

the RAM didn't work on 3 systems we have with Intel boards
troubleshooting link : beep codes - diagnostics
the GPU card didn't fit in Intel D845GVSR & 2 other similar boards
in the picture :
above is the Grafix card 6200 I received from Sanjeet
below is a sample PCI card from computer(s) we have
I do not have knowledge about the computer slots.
it appears that many are confused about PCI, PCI-E, AGP etc.

today happens to be last day of testing warranty.
as the items didn't work / suit , I returned them.
I didn't inform the seller before returning as I had no time...
this may be unprofessional as the seller described on IM chat
however he appears to be a professional seller & has no
thoughts to return the money. I requested him to reduce
Rs 150 and return remaining amount by 25th of this month
finally he said that let the community decide on returning amount.
I request the community members to decide on returning of paid amount
Thanking You All

^I agree with vivacious..
It happened with me too in TE once when I got confused between a DSL router and ADSL router..
However, I rectified my mistake and asked the seller for refund before he shipped the product....
The Seller returned it happily...
Mistakes do happen... :-)
In such case, Seller should issue refund.

"Testing warranty" is different from "satisfaction warranty". Satisfaction warranty means that you can return the product if you are not satisfied with it for whatever reason. Testing warranty on the other hand means that the the seller is guaranteeing that the product is in working condition subject to user taking care that the product is used as per specs. In this case, it simply means the seller is giving you guarantee that the card will work if you plug it into a compatible system.
2. It is the buyers responsibility to research the compatibility and other aspects of the product that he wants to buy. Ignorance of the same cannot be used as an excuse. Unless explicitly mentioned and emphasized, Neither forum sellers or commercial dealers offer satisfaction warranties. No seller takes back a product just because you found that its incompatible after you got it home. If its working in a compatible system as per specs, he will return it back to you without a refund.
The way I see it, the seller is obligated to take back the RAM and return you the amount you paid for the same, but he is in no way obligated to take back the card. It would be at his discretion whether he would take back the card or send it back to you after deducting additional money for shipping the same back to you from the amount that he has to return to you for the RAM. I fully sympathize with your predicament, but that is the blunt realty of the situation.

Another guy on Engadget: No, Steve Jobs is dead... Flash is still alive.
^I agree with this.
Although I hope the seller refunds as it's all about good trading spirit.
Although you definitely should inform the seller before sending them the products. I'd have been annoyed if I was in his place.
Best of luck with it.
but here the buyer has clearly mentioned WTB a PCI gfx card not PCI-E gfx card, seller does know that its a PCI-e card so how come did he sold it as PCI card? The seller should have mentioned that it is PCI-e card & wont fit in PCI slot.
Since RAM sticks aint working full amount minus shipping must be refunded IMO.
Also Buyer must have informed seller before sending back the items
The card that you have bought is not PCI, its PCI-E, you should have checked that before. You need a PCI card and you have bought a PCI-E card and thats totally your mistake. You should do all the research beforehand, and now as the card doesn't fits your mobo, you can't blame the seller for that.
The seller has already mentioned that, here is it
8. Asus Nvidia GeForce 6200SE 256MB DDR Graphic Card
Here is more details about it:
GeForce 6200 with TurboCache
It is a PCI-Express Card..
In perfect condition, never used, NO WARRANTY.
and you need this:
I need a Geforce 6200 OR its equivalent PCI grafix card
for a student's old computer [intel D845GVSR] . 10 days
testing warranty would be expected . any offer please ..
the card needs to be sent to Hyderabad
No say who did the mistake?

^^ thats true the seller has contribution in this, but i think its the buyers jobs to do as much research as possible

i guess for that mistake buyer is ready to compensate with Rs.150, so seller should refund balance amount as soon as he receives his items back.
Hmmm...
thanks OK

In the next post sheshu hasn't mentioned anywhere that what he wanted was PCI and not PCI-E rather he mentioned that the thread starter is busy! Regarding my second post, it was because sheshu himself told me to do so. He had pmed me for the product before creating this thread, the thread was created because he didn't agree on my mentioned price.

Thank you for the replies.
I was also trying to explain the same thing to "sheshu" in the im chat as "Lord Nemesis" has pointed out, but he said "let the community members decide".
He told me in the IM chat yesterday that he does not know much about slots. Before buying, niether did he mention this nor did he ask for anything except testing warranty. If he would have told me about it before, I surely would have sent him some images of the product. Moreover, he was asking for 10 days testing warranty, which I didn't agree because an electronic product can be checked in merely 2-3 days, still I offered him 5 days testing warranty. I even mentioned about an incident in one of the PMs, where the buyer had conked off my working product and sent it to me, which forced me to become cautious in remote deals thereafter and I expected the same from the buyer.
Regarding the RAM, I can agree with the buyer because I didn't test the RAM before sending it as I couldn't find a DDR1 based motherboard. When the buyer said that the RAM wasn't working, I didn't ask him anything about it and agreed.
Finally, I would like to say all the members here to be very sure about what they want to buy and do complete research about assumptions or possibilities also, otherwise a deal might may become nothing but merely a waste of time for both seller and buyer as well as of financial losses.
Sheshu, don't worry about your money, I remember, you mentioned as being the most honest person in anyone in my family (in one of your pms) and coincidently the same applies to me here. The reason why I was a little angry while talking to you in the chat at first was that I have my MCA exams till 20th and I had to waste time in all this stuff. I will issue you a full refund of Rs. 1000 and consider the shipping amount as a penalty for sending you a non-working RAM but it will be done on 21st once my exams are over, I hope that's not a problem. I can neither think of earning by an unfair means nor to disturb others
.
I would like to tell all the members here once again to first know what they want to buy and then post their requirements.![]()

In seshu's WTB thread he clearly mentioned that card require for "Intel D845GVSR" and same to be PCI not PCIe. Sanjeet Arora came forward with an offer of PCI card.I need a Geforce 6200 OR its equivalent PCI grafix card
for a student's old computer [intel D845GVSR] . 10 days
testing warranty would be expected . any offer please ..
the card needs to be sent to Hyderabad
. http://www.techenclave.com/video-and...ml#post1652910. Also being a Techie, Sanjeet would have known that "Intel D845GVSR" support only AGP/PCI. I did not see buyer's fault in the deal and whole scenario makes seshu'u refund request genuineI've Nvidia Geforce 6200 PCI for Rs. 500 + shipping. Let me know if interested.

I request Sanjeet again to deduct the shipping charges and return

Edit : just now I've seen Sanjeet's response here. I could not
tolerate his tone on IM chat. I am not in a hurry for the refund .
I can wait a month if required ..

You know what guys, things like these must be solved within yourself. Because when a negative thread is started here, it is shameful for all the TEians.
I personally don't like to discuss these type of issues publicly.
