Seagate Warranty Status - 3yrs or 5yrs ?

Seagate cuts warranty from 5 to 3 years on some hard drives

Seagate Technology - Product Warranty Matrix

As per the above, Seagate has reduced warranty periods to 3 years. Can someone check up if this applies to Seagate India as well? I need to pick up a 500Gb and want one with 5 yrs warranty. WDs gonna see a jump in sales if this happens here I guess

Check this post of mine....the OLD harddrive inventory with seagate holds 5 yrs....the new one getting shipped from the 3rd will hold new warranty of only 3 YRS....

Pickup the HDD you want right now !! 5 yer warranty will be very much valid of available stocks !!

techie right now locally almost all shops have seagates with 5yr warranty in stock, i bought a seagate 320gb 2.5" sata yesterday and checked its warranty

bought a 7200.12 500GB....chked it online...3 yrs warranty

old stocks must have been clred in Jan itself...i thnk

I havn't seen any 7200.11 with 3 years warranty. Get one now before they run out of stock.

^^ they have malaysia makes for the 7200.11 .. try to get that.. that doesnt seem to have any defects which are there in the chinese makes.

I have two Seagate 500GB 7200.12 both with 5 years of warranty..But i love WD for reliability ........
