^^The link dosent specify the model no tho, i just called him up and check and he confirmed that its 7200.12 . Whats the model no of the drives Torch? Are there many versions of the 1 TB 7200.12 . I think theres only one model with 32 MB cache right?

7200.12 is the generation of the drive technology. You get 7200.12 drives in various capacities. ST31000528AS is the only 1TB 7200.12 drive. Even the older 7200.11 drives had 32MB cache.

i heard that seagate drives have serious power adapter problem,,they melt,,sad i came to know abt this after i bought my seagate,,touchwood its still working

Statistically how many.... I have 5 Seagate HDD's... 2 on my download rig running 24x7...

tell him to revise his listing with model number and 7200.12 series.
buy only then.

I agree... Unless the seller confirms this on the listing itself & through PM, he can send any model of 1TB Seagate he likes & you cannot raise a dispute with eBay...

There is another seller who is selling 7200.12 HDD with model no. clearly mentioned but when I asked him to confirm he told me its actually 7200.11 1TB...

With eBay always keep your safe side within their rules...

Is it really necessary to buy HDDs on eBay? I'm sure you can get them locally...

i usually clean up my pc generally gets damaged in that process,,i didnt have the problem yet but my friends have!!and that would be arnd 8 seagates uptill now,,most of them burnt power connector and others due to some unknown reasons stopped working!!!

That is where I got it from... + FREE Transcend 160GB...

Actually I asked him to put it up there so that I can make use of the Monsoon offer...

Yes they were available till 2 days back now again the suppliers only have 7200.11 i have a order pending on ebay and there's no 7200.12 now lets see when it comes back or else i'll have to refund the amount.

I recieved the HDD which i had ordrered from Ebay, he had confirmed it was a 7200.12 so i had placed the order. And it is a 7200.12, model no is ST31000528AS. Got it for 4875 Shipped
