The HDD works fine with the back panel ports. But not with the front panel ports even if i connect both cables. The HDD doesnt require any power other than from the usb ports.
Actually, a week back i was transferring files to my 4gb transcend MP3 player (which obviously draws power only from the usb port) and suddenly a FORMAT DRIVE popped up and then it vanished.
With other devices this issue arises very rarely, but very frequently with my portable HDD alone.
Now could there be any issue with the PSU (is it not supplying full power to the front usb ports ?) or is there a issue with the mobo front panel usb headers itself ?. Can there be a problem with the front panel usb connector of my cabby ?.
Since my brother's front usb ports worked fine with this cabby, i bought the same..
