Incident: Had just about started downloading a file worth 2.97GB via torrent and just about when the space was being reserved for the file, i realised that it wasnt the file i wanted, so i selected the delete data option from the menu in a hurry.



the data didn proceeded towards the recycle bin and the space got reserved as well.

wdnt have bothered too mch about it but i am a bit curious to recover this space as well as the low free space count on the partition warrants a solution.



I tried the error checking options on the concerned partition and nothing happened. Did a restart as well twice, again nothing.

Any ideas ?



OS: Win XP Sp 2

use windows disk clean up utility on that drive.
