Default Gparted crashed. Whole HDD got unallocated.

Hello,
I had a 250GB single HDD in my system. Just got a 160GB HDD today.

I installed XP on first parition(15GB) of 160GB HDD. I had all my stuff GAMES, WALLPIES, SETUPS,etc on 250GB HDD.

250GB HDD had first & second partition as 15GB & 25GB meant for OS (NTFS)& then were 90GB(multimedia)(NTFS), 100GB(Games)(NTFS),12GB(OS)(ETX3 +Linux swap).

I removed all OS from 250GB HDD & went to 160GB HDD.

Installed XP on 15GB partition of 160GB HDD.
I had planned to make 250GB HDD meant for storage only.

So booted Ubuntu Live CD & was on Gparted.
First i umnounted OS drives from 250GB HDD
then unallocated then.
Then i was unmounting 90GB & 100GB partitions.
First 90GB was unmounted safely
Then while unmounting 100GB partition Gpated crashed

After than it's showing whole 250GB as unallocated, NO any partitions
even after booting from XP, i didn't get to see partitions on 250GB HDD.

So, Is my all data gone?
Can i recover it?

PS: I haven't Formatted drive.
Gparted crashed while unmounting drives & then whole 250GB HDD was unallocated.

Edit:- have added drive formats.
250GB has very Important data like, my Photographs, save games, Project work, etc which are really important.
Movies, Audio, wallpapers, Setups, drivers, etc i can get again anytime, but not the above data

WTH you did ? Unallocated them
Installer unmount all the drives partition by itself...

Anyways data is there . Boot again and see if partitions are available under Places Menu.. If yes install testdisk in the lie cd Ubuntu -- Package Search Results -- testdisk

Ok now open terminal do
Code:
sudo testdisk
Now do these

1. Enter Create .
2. Proceed
3. Intel/PC Partition
4. Analyse
5. Quick Search
6. Enter and Write ..

Reboot and see if it works.. If not do deeper search..

Post the output of
Code:
sudo fdisk -l

there is testdisk for msdos too . look for ultimate boot cd , it is under filesystem tools .

recovered my entire partition table of 500 GB HDD with 6 partition .

it is more powerful than it seems , we can recover partition by cluster size cylinders etc.

Devil Re: Need Help. Gparted crashed. Whole HDD got unallocated.

I can help you in recovering whole data on 250GB drive, no need to worry its just corruption in partition table.
First of all dont try any repair/data recovery attempt on 250GB disk just leave as its and..
Download "Partition Table Doctor 3.5" here..
Partition Recovery Software: Partition Repair; Partition Undelete; Recover deleted or lost partition.
Now go to rebuild partition table

Select interactive mode for rebuilding partition table..

after completing search select known partition for rebuilding table.

Save and exit PTTD reboot system you did it man gone data is back
Whole process is 15 minute work.

been a linux user i recovered data many times by PTTD.

Thanks a TON.

It was good for me, that i kept HDD as it is w/o any modifications to partitions or formatting. Otherwise i would have been screwed a bad time
