    Confusing seagate procedure

Many would have seen my earlier post regarding faulty hard disk. Before submitting and the return they made me register to seacare for my hard disk on 26th of this month.

I got a mail on 27th thanking me to register the device and telling me to send the device to their chennai address .

Within an hour i got another mail of receipt of the hard disk by accel

Now funny thing happened today i got an email saying that the hard disk has been shipped and tracking no is been provided saying seagate received the hard disk in singapore.

Also i got a message today that my hard disk would be repaired within 5- 6 days .

So guys could you tell me whether they have accepted my drive want me to submit it or they have messed it up send some other drive and are giving an acknowledgement for it or is just regular procedure that means nothing because i still have the faulty drive with me.

    Re: Confusing seagate procedure

i'm located in delhi and my hdd which is not working properly, is under warranty. so i did the same as ggt, and registered it on their site. now, i'm in a dilemma whether to send it to chennai or not.. i mean the service centre is really far off from my place and then i'd have to go their twice.. so, i can send it to chennai but i don't want to put me and my hdd in any kinda hassles.. coz i've read complaints all over the net where they sent back the faulty drive or didn't receive even after the buyer returned the hdd already..
