Beware about HDDs...cheaper alternatives may dupe You...

Was looking for hdd rates last evening as i always do weekly... i came across dealers keeping Seagate's Pipeline HD series drives..

These were available in 1TB quantity and they sell it for normal 1TB price (of barracuda 7200.12)

this has happened before...but that time it was SV series drive for surveillance..

So beware while buying...they generally over quote WD 1TB drive forcing customer to buy these drives.
These drives (pipeline HD and SV) are not mentioned under Home>Desktop ..rather under Business>Desktop on seagate web.

Check the Product series before you make a purchase... OR specifically mention you need Barracuda 7200.12 drive when you ask for a quote

^^ its not cheating actually... Unless the customer specifies the model number OR product series... Most of the people as for the capacity and brand and thus they give the cheapest possible by default. it's not unethical either but the topic is just to point out which one is better out of those two and one shall not settle for the inferior one unless offered for much lower price.

Unlike most of the customers i did tell the shop exactly what i wanted but it was MY mistake that i did not double check it right then and there.I realized my mistake only when i returned home i immediately took the drive back but the smooth Talking dealer showed his true face and refused to take the drive back so i had to fight with the dealer and make a scene he finally gave my money back.I straight away went to delta and bought the Drive i wanted .
