sailing in the same boat for couple of months now, almost zeroed down to FZ40 and would be ordering one soon hopefully. Costing close to 16k though here in oz..

Well to tell the truth my iphone did go into a kind of loop while booting and various other issues, so a simple jailbreak process took me more than 3 hours!! Had to go into DFU and what not but finally alls well that ends well! Also i love playing around with my gadgets, hacking and modding...

Hmm now that i have already done it, i find no issues as such cause i am not going to boot my phone every now and then. However can i not move to the untethered JB when i want?

Guys can i JB my iphone 4 running on 4.2.1 with baseband 3.10.1? I do saw the guide on iclarifieddotcom but it doesnt mention for which baseband it works?

no issues in rolling the baby but can u confirm if the JB is applicable to the above mentioned specs

@Styx, thanks for tht info, so as long as i dont boot my iphone all is good :) Also is this untethered JB applicable for all firmware and baseband or is there any limitation?

@Styx thanks, i am not exactly sure about what this tethered or untethered but after reading over the net i can understand that its not as simple as the jailbreakmedotcom types. So when you say a untethered one is coming soon, should i interpret it as the easy one mentioned before?

just check them over on ebay cause the same stores are available on ebay also so that u can purchase within the safety net of ebay, however again they do not have manufacturers warranty. also i have noticed that the courier usually doesnt take much time if the item is in stock.

I am not sure what i wrote above, too much to drink i guess :P, the price i mentioned was for FZ40 and yes the site is a grey market site importing from hongkong but it has good reviews on the net as well and i know few people from steve's forum who have bought there camera from this site...

Its true that FZ100 is much better than sx30 and fz40 but there are still doubts in peoples mind about its IQ. Apart from that the 35x zoom provided by sx30 cannot be easily ignored. Also the performance in low light is nothing to speak of for all 3 cameras. Regarding the cost i did mention...

Thats not very cheap for a FZ40, we get the FZ40 here for 300$ + 30$ shipping in Australia, but with vendors warranty. If u have got international warranty then its good. Do share your experience with us as i am still confused between F40, FZ100, SX30 and HS10.

You might want to have a look at the new models from Panasonic FZ40 and FZ100 along with Canon Sx30. I had hands on with all three yesterday and they are good in what they do. FZ40 is the cheapest of them all and gives a good balance of features, zoom and picture quality. Selling for 350$ in Oz...
