remove all the connections to hdd and cdrom and power on with minimum devices connected. power on with only display and memory connected and then see is it take the same time to give the initial beep.

once you have booted via live cd and you have the desktop loaded you will see install icon on desktop. try installing from there.

KB888111 is included Windows XP SP3, the files might have gone corrupt. Try reinstalling SP3 and then install the audio drivers again.

Is services for unix installed on your windows 2003 server? If not install it that should help you.
