General Guidelines

  • Do not post material that is obscene, abusive, or that otherwise violates any of the guidelines mentioned herein.

      1. Flaming - Flaming will not be tolerated. While we are committed to freedom of expression, a deliberate attempt to malign or to hurt the feelings of a member or a specific community will not be tolerated. Please use the report post function to report any offensive post to the Moderators or to the Administrators. Alternately, a private message can also be sent to the Moderator of the respective section. Please show respect for yourself and other members of TechEnclave.com. Please refrain from using derogatory remarks and language in the forums. A lot of foul words are automatically masked by the forum software; however some may still have escaped our notice. If any words are missed, please contact a Moderator or Administrator at the earliest.

      2. Obscene Images TechEnclave.com is a public forum and any distasteful photographs or images containing explicit imagery will not be entertained. Furthermore, this includes those of a graphic or vulgar nature, which would be deemed unsuitable for a community forum for all ages.
      3. Nationality - Members at this forum represent countries from around the world. Political propaganda will not be tolerated. Deliberate and/or malicious "country bashing" will result in action up to and including user ban depending on severity. All posts found offending are to be reported to the respective section moderators or the staff.

      4. Racism Any racist or sexist remarks will be deleted and the member will be warned or banned. The internet is one world where colour or creed or sex is not an issue.

      5. Usernames People seem to believe that since the use of abusive language in the forums is prohibited, so why not register or signup with an abusive username. Any abusive/bad language seen in usernames will be looked upon harshly and will more than likely be deleted on sight. Usernames can be changed by contacting an Administrator subject to certain conditions. The Administrators and Staff hold the right to grant the username change as per their own free wish. They also reserve to change the username with a notification if the username is found to be offencive. Kindly report any sightings of usernames with abusive language in it to the TechEnclave.com Staff.

      6. Threatening Private Messages are also frowned upon and action will be taken if the system is abused. Please feel free to forward all such PM's to any of the Staff members.

  • Do not post copyrighted material such as retail software, visual themes or other software that requires permission before distribution. This includes hacking cracking or any other types of Black Hat activities.

      1. Hacking/Cracking - This site does not promote or want to condone the use of bypassing security of any kind. Including breaking into networks, even if a member owns it and wants the network broken into. There are plenty of other sites that will do the same. TechEnclave.com isn't the place to request or post such information or help.

      2. Warez - Warez is strictly banned. This includes `keygens' / `key generators' and 'cracks', or how to obtain or install them. This can include information on how to bypass, circumvent any software or operating system's security protocols. Do not ask for help on installing configuring any help with game cracks. We do not recommend or promote using them and will not provide support for them.

      3. Visual Themes - If the author of a visual theme has given you permission to change and/or post his/her theme, please send a copy of the email to TechEnclave.com administrator or staff before you post such material. Please do not post the visual theme until you have been notified to do so from the staff or administrators of TechEnclave.com. You are however free to post freeware themes that are in the public domain.

  • Do not use the forum to advertise retail products or services that are not free or go against other forum rules. Do not post links to competitive forums, with the pure intent of generating traffic though you can contact the administrators for site link exchanges.

      1. Retail Products and Services - New products news can be posted here but, please do not give a sales pitch here. Do not post links to referral sites here. They will be removed. [Special Note: We do have a 'Hot Deals' section where you can post your own websites or links to websites other then TechEnclave.com for the benefit of other members. However let it be clear that the forum section is meant solely for bringing to the notice of other members any new products being sold or some hot freeware deals. Please do not use this section as a backdoor to advertise your site. Any spamming or posts meant for the sake of advertising will be deleted.]
Apart from this TechEnclave.com reserves the right to remove any link in any post deemed unsafe or harmful to the members or TechEnclave.com.

  • Hot-Linking Images in Forums: Since there are a few issues with hotlinking images from other sites-

    1. Leeching: Everytime any member opens your Hotlinked thread - TE has to load the image from the parent site - so basically we are stealing their bandwidth every single time our members access your thread. While some sites allow this, others donot.

    2. Danger of Swapping: The original picture you Hotlink can be swapped or replaced by another inappropriate picture by the owner of the Image or the site you have hot-linked to, so instead of say the Uber GPU you wanted to show off, you might get another picture instead of it for example a Nude Picture on the page which you never intended to post as it is against the rules.

    3. Lastly, the page load times are affected and a few images cause the forum pages to be displayed incorrectly for a few members.

  • Solutions:
    1. We suggest all our members to utilise the services of Image Hosting Servers like Imageshack, Supload etc for all image hosting needs. Just upload your picture to the server & then copy/paste the Thumbnail Code in your post.
    2. You can also use the Attachment feature offered by TechEnclave.com to host a few files.

  • Please note that hot-linked images from now on will be removed when seen without any explaination.

  • Do not spam the forums with useless posts. Posts that are completely off topic in order to raise post count or generally irritate other forum users will be removed or deleted and the member who posted the message may be issued a warning looking at the content of the post and if he/she repeatedly spam. This also includes posting the same message in multiple forums, the threads will be merged and the various original posts will be removed. No double and/or cross-posting in different forums. Double and cross posting results in off-topic threads. Generally, your post isn't important enough to be posted into different forums.

  • Off late it has been noticed that some members are misusing the report post button for spamming. Kindly donot misuse a feature. Repeatedly doing so can result in action being taken against you without prior warning.

  • Do not use vague words in your topic. Topics such as "help me" are often ignored by other members. Members are more likely to view a thread if the topic is more definitive and to the point. Members and Staff here want to help, but we can't if we are not lead to the thread as most members and staff are good in different aspects. Any new thread must have a title with relevant information to the topic you want to discuss. The name of a thread is just like the headline in a newspaper; it helps you to select threads personally relevant for you. Thread titles like 'looking for...' 'wtf', 'please read' or 'what's your opinion' are not allowed. Thread titles that use shock value or humor or any other attempt to get extra attention should be avoided.

  • Advertising/Recruitment by the use of posting threads or PMing members is not allowed. If we see any such threads or posts, they will be trashed. If a PM with a similar content is reported, action can be taken against the member(s) found guilty.

  • TechEnclave.com reserves the right to edit or delete any message that does not adhere to or comply with the above guidelines. We also reserve the right to ban any and every individual who repeatedly violates them. If your thread is moved to a non-visible forum or deleted, you will be contacted via a Private Message by the staff as soon as possible. To ensure that the forum guidelines are enforced the moderators have the ability to moderate or delete posts and threads. Super Moderators have the ability to ban users that do not comply with these guidelines.

  • Posts that are completely off topic in order to raise post count or generally irritate other forum users will be removed. This also includes posting the same message in multiple forums, the threads will be merged and the various original posts will be removed.

  • Do not Private Message Administrators or Moderators with questions concerning computer problems. Post your questions in the appropriate forum section - Other forum member(s) may have the same problem or may have the answer to your problem. You will have a better chance of getting the answer you are looking for in a timely fashion if you post in the correct section. Only post in the forum that matches your topic. The board is divided into several forums with sub-forums. If you pay attention and read the titles of the forums, you should be able to figure out which forum to post in. Make use of the search function if you are unsure about where to post.

  • Before posting, make use of the board search feature. You get there by clicking the 'search' button. The search feature is self-explanatory, so with a bit of practice you will quickly find what you want. We highly recommend making use of the search feature, it is a fast way to gain information. Using the search feature will avoid multiple threads dealing with the same subject.

  • 'Pushing' or bumping' threads solely in order to make a thread "rise to the top" of the forum is not allowed. If your thread has no response, then after a reasonable amount of time feel free to respond in case it was just missed. This is better than and preferred over reposting the same thread. If a thread is not in the Chatter Bits / Entertainment / Jokers Club forum, do not force it off-topic. If something interesting develops you can always create a new thread. Anything and everything in these forums must be posted in English only. Otherwise the content will be deleted. You'll just be wasting your time.

  • If you want to address a member personally, write an email to that person or make use of the 'private message' (PM) feature. Private communication on the forum is forbidden. This is not a chat room. The forum contains versatile PM capabilities. Simply clicking on the PM Button on different locations will send a PM to the specific member. Incoming PM's are usually immediately displayed on the screen using JavaScript (a "pop-up"). In addition, you have a PM Button at the bottom of the pages. Members' email addresses can be found in their profile.

  • Kindly note that your post cannot contain only smilies. A maximum of 15 smilies per post are allowed with no more than 3 in succession.

  • Donot abuse or aim attacks directly or indirectly at the staff. If you want to report any actions by a moderator or a staff member, kindly post so in the Feedback section or PM the administrators with a proper reason for the same. Please keep a civil tone to your post.

  • There is absolutely no room for slander, insults, and bashing here! Keep a civil tone to your posting. Abuse of fellow forum members will not be tolerated. The rules for newsgroups pertain here, as well. Do not forget that you are communicating with human beings. Remember: treat others as you want to be treated. Keeping in mind the recent posts, any post which contain any sort of an insult will have action instantiated against you. This maybe in the form of reseting post count, negative reps by staff or any other means deemed suitable by the TechEnclave.com staff.

  • To ensure that the forum guidelines are enforced the moderators have the ability to moderate or delete posts and threads. Super Moderators have the ability to ban users that do not comply with these guidelines. Super Moderators and Moderators will leave a note if posts are edited and a private message may be sent to the users if a post is deleted or a thread is shifted.
