    Philips MMS 430

hello everybody I am new member of the Techenclave.

Here is a review of my new 2.1 speaker system from Philips MMS 430:hap2:

I was looking over to buy a new speaker system to go with my new rig. My budget was 3000 bucks. According to TE members ATP3 was the best 2.1 setup they had heard and gud VFM. I did a bit of search and read a review abt these speakers from Philips. Looked gud and bought them. I have heard an ATP system and have listened and owened 2.1's from creative sbs and inspire. This set easily beats the creative's and stands at par with ATP according to me.

    Specifications:

100 watts total power, 50[30+2x10] watts RMS

    Digital Dynamic Bass Boost

Wooden subwoofer and open face satellites

    Features blue LED

    Box Contents:

    Sub,2 satellites,Wires

The installation is too simple plug and play. All the ports are color coded.

Sorry for the quality of the images as taken from my mobile K750i in poor lighting.

The sound from the speakers is really gud. I have just bought it 3 hours back. Has given good results with all genres. Justifies the bass with most of the songs I have tried. Saw some action scenes from HD print of troy. Did well there too.

Absolutely no distortion at the peak volume. All clean and tight bass. They are loud but not too much. As if the designers curtailed the sound volume at the point where it would have started loosing the clarity.

The two sat's are sexy and will add style on almost any desktop or laptop. Beats the ATP's looks completely in my opinion.

Best part: The subwoofer is open and so are the satellites. U can actually see the woofer move!!! I can hear and see my songs.

Awesome experience, but may be a problem for ppl having kids around who would poke fingers at anything moving.

I made some small videos of the thing so that I can share it with u all.

@ReNaGAde: They costed me Rs.2600;cudn't find more dealers aving them in my city.

@ComradE_BeaN: before moving on to these I was using a 4.2 system composed of two SBS 370. This kicks their ass easily as far as the bass is concerned. Yeah I miss the surround though. I have heard ATP's in a friends room who plays pure rock on them all the time. They do have loudness at their full volume and distortion too in the genre's I have listened to[hard rock]. These have a tight bass and so far on the rock and rap tracks I have listened to do not dissapoint at all.

Altough they did dissapointed me while watching a TV series at a particular soundtrack in which the sub went gooo..gooo...fiddled with the equalizer and rectified a lot. I will play it on an ATP or Inspire and check.

I will check the ATP's tomorrow or so and ask my friend to play other stuff so that I can listen and compare easily. Has been some time since I have heard ATP's would not comment now. Would post quickly a gud comparison on all genres.

these are for bass fanaticsss their mid and treble suxxxxxx

the bass alsoo has a punch and lacks depth... i have used them for more than a month

mid and high are crisp in ATP-3 and has a calm bass... not up to mark alll the time if u rev up the vol knob but VFM i would sayy if u have a mid size room

i u r a bass faniaticc then Philips is for u and also its a great show off

atp3 and 2141 are a diff league catering to better reproduction of sound than just having a attractive booming bass

finally tring to find chep rep for my philips 805 ..... i wanta pair mor max budget is 1.5 glad if some one has recom..
