EA Sports Cricket 2007 (PC) Review

The 2007 edition of cricket world cup is just round the corner. While the teams prepare for the start of their world cup campaign, there could not be a better time to do a quick review of latest EA Sports offering for the billions of cricket fans across the world. While watching your favorite cricketers battle it out for the ultimate prize in world cricket, you'll often feel the urge to be at their place and experience it on your own. That is where a game like EA Sports Cricket 2007 comes in handy and allows you to go through all the anguish and glory witnessed by those cricketers.

This edition of the game, released days before the beginning of The Ashes comes in a 2CD pack. The installation is straight forward and usual EA Sports setup. There is nothing extraordinary here. Once the game is installed, you get down to the business and a serious one at that. You’ll be greeted with another customary EA Sports Cricket interface. No shocks here and no visible changes from the last edition either. The interface is good, clean, simple and easy to navigate though sometimes you get the feeling that there’s no way you can reach certain parts with that keyboard of yours. It is indeed frustrating but the good old mouse comes to the rescue.

^^well...go to planet cricket forums and install the patches...there are some pretty good ones. They've even got the world cup jerseys of all the major teams
Whats more all you have to do is extract the files in the cricket 2007 folder and play...

But what i'm eagerly waiting for is BLC 2007

Good review dude..but aftr playing the game for a few days, the whole things gets so repetitive... and as u say, there has hardly been any improvements from the previous franchise.. also i think becos of the license woes, most of the asian and african teams (except s.africa which is licensed) have really creative names!! Wot with our own players having names like tendehar, dhenier, gungly.. Its good for a few laughs actually..!! But i really have to point out tht the skin tone used for all the players with the asian tag are irrevocably so dark tht they almost look like negroes..well, do you think players like sachin, saurav, yuvraj, shahid afridi etc. are so dark as they are in the game?? Its almost hard to recognize them... I just hope they do a better job next time with the character modelling and skin tones next time.. It'll add to the realism which is all the more important in todays games..

well i tried and i m happy harbhajan has its turban need to check about monty...is he in????

btw controls are much better than cric 2005 which i had tried earlier......

also graphics are not that gr8 compared to 2005...also it has lot of error stuff like sometimes on boundary player catches but it still shows as six.....also for runout most of the time when player whole body also comes into crease still he is given out...ofcourse bat looks grounded.......

but stilli will say much better becoz of easy controls.......

I found another problem particularly related to realism..the fielders simply never seem to drop catches..even indian players dont drop catches..(pun intended)..
drops are equally a part of any game if it is supposed to mimic real world game characteristics.. and i agree with magnet about the run out glitch..many a times i was surprised to see my player given out even when he had returned safely in the crease..

I never liked the cricket games(cricket 2005/06), all the cricket games i have played so far lacks a good UI and are easy to play. The cricket 2006 was nowhere compared to the likes of FIFA 2006 and NBA.
