zenith is with 9600gs not 9600gt as far as i know. and even 9600gs is better then 4570

Well I've found this GPU too to b a lagger. In COD 4, in SP mode, FPS dropped horribly low to 10-15 ! So now what can this GPU do if not games? I also wanna know that can I get its CPU upgraded as the default T6400 is a Steam engine during startup. What's the procedure for gettin' the upgrade?

I just got my Studio 15 but the wifi seems to disconnect when the lid is closed.

I have changed the lid close option to do nothing when the lid is closed also i have disabled windows to put turn off the wifi adapter when on battery.

Anyone facing this problem?

Ok I have been using this exact same laptop for about a month. Here are the issues I don't like:
1) The alt+fn+f4 thingy
2) No indicators for wifi etc
3) few usb ports

That is it. I am overall satisfied with my laptop.. Games run awesomely (512 Ati card)
Also the 9 cell battery protrudes downwards. I have vista home (64 bit) and after a little tweaks etc it runs smoothly and awesomely

Also there is an eject button for the dvd drive (to the left side of Print screen button)

Another problems seems to have raised its head on my 1555... i installed gtalk and when i get a msg in gtalk while the gtalk chat window is in the background and any audio or video file is playing in any media player [vlc or windows media player], the sound stutters/breaks....

this doesnt happen when the gtalk chat window is in the foreground of other audio/video applications...

i thought it was a windows issue so re installed windows vista...tried updating the latest audio drivers but still no luck...is anyone else facing this problem?

Well I'm actually planning to upgrade the processor to the P8600 and Keypad to a backlit one. Just dunno how and where to get these upgrades.
As for the sound issue, me also facing the same thing, whenever I mute a media player, the IDT Audio driver crashes. Looks like wants us to upgrade to the high priced $hit by giving defunct default drivers. The Creative Audio drivers were for 650 bucks when I ordered my laptop.

I like the performance of studio 1555. For thos of you who are still interested in this laptop, you can really find a detail review on
Notebookcheck: Review Dell Studio 1555 Notebook

But two things I didn't like:
- The first: there is no indication LEDs such as indication of connecting to WiFI, CAPS, etc. There is a lot of space unused including the keys. For instance Dell would have used the WiFi and CAPS indicators on the keys themselves.

- The second: I am not sure this is true for every one or not ,,,, near the touch pad it produces a lot of heat. Every other parts of the pc is cool enough. I don't know what a hell of heat it generates in this particular place. I am sure that this is not good for health. Is it same with other people also? I need really a solution for this. I don't recommend the laptop just for this reason. You know after about 30 min of continuous use, I have to cool my palm ,,, especially my left hand. It is really not a good idea. I don't know what is in the mind of the designers. Heat exhaustion towards the user? Impossible. There should be some mistake in production. I will try to contact Dell in case they did some mistake in production, may be.
Anyone having other solution for this, please?? I am sick of it!
I tried to get support using the provided service tag, but the tag is invalid.

The Caps and WiFi indicators are provided in the backlit keyboard and the area around touch pad gets hot coz of the WiFi Mini card. Even if there is no WiFi access point in range, its WiFi remains ON so u have to check it and switch it off manually, don't rely on the Multimedia key for switching it ON or OFF. Once u do that, u'll notice its doesn't get that much hot but bit warm as adjacent to it lies the HDD which in any case will produce heat so if u want the instant chill kimosabe, buy a laptop cooler.
