Bro seriously, u sounded really confident. I myself have a CM extreme power plus 500w, and its doing good for me. My PSU will be more than sufficient for hd 4770.

Processor - AMD Phenom II 550 ~5.5k
Motherboard - Some 785G ~5k
RAM - 2x2GB DDR3 800 ~4k
HDD - Seagate/WD 500GB ~ 2.8k
GFX - 4870 ~11k
PSU - Corsair 450VX ~4k
Monitor - Benq 22INCH ~ 10k
Cabinet Antec NSK4400 ~2k

These prices maybe higher then what you will get if you search properly
I believe this will be more balanced if your into OC'ing you can get that thing to 3.5GHZ
785G will allow you to unlock your Proccy its the latest chipset and DDR3 Ram will keep you set for the future.

My 2 cents

Dude, i dont knw y my post sounded Arrogant to u ppl, I think i used AFAIK (As far as i know), tht meant i was limiting my post to my knowledge, which can be incomplete (in most of the cases ).

I was just asking the guy to be sure of tht, nuthing offensive. I also said "never heard of tht...". I was talking about the domain of my knowledge only. I am sorry if that post offended anyone, but that was not the intention.

^There's a rough break-up, mix and match according to your preference/leftover budget. Take your pick and try to shoe-horn it into your budget.

Despite some expected opposition, i would urge you to avoid the AMD platform if you cannot fit AM3 + DDR3 into your budget.

If you want an HD gaming pocket-rocket, go for a Gigabyte G31+E7500+DDR2 RAM CPU+mobo+RAM combo and invest the saved budget on a bigger screen(22/24inch), a better GPU(HD4890/GTX275), a decent aftermarket CPU cooler.
+other miscellaneous stuff like a fancier cabinet etc...

People can give you suggestions, its upto you to pick what you want.

Investment in a powerful PSU never goes waste. Buy Corsair TX750 or so, will suffice you for a very long time.
You may want to compromise certain components right now and buy them later on but never compromise on a good PSU.

Query Re: Suggest me a PSU + comment on the RIG I'm planning to buy.

guys a REALLY BIG THANK U for the gr8 responses . i was totally disillusioned by the X4 and CF and REALLY thot i needed it, and was bout to invest so much for thm.

i don think i need a powerful psu cos i wont be cf-ing or oc-ing. just a good stable one

i cant afford 4 gigs of dd3 ram rite now, and dd3 isnt completely utilised by current software ( i.e to its max capapbilities ), so i'm settling for 4 gigs ddr2

so here's my finalized config.(( edited and refurbished by the peple at techenclave ))

Phenom-II X2 550 BE - 5k
785g chipset based motherboard (MSI or GIGABYTE) - 5k
4870 1 GB ( sapphire ) - 11.1k
4 GB DDR2 ( corsair ) - 3k
Dell 19" ( E1909W ) - 6.7k
Corsair VX 450 - 4k
Seagate 500GB ( the 32mb cache one ) - 2.5k

but i dunno wat case and UPS to buy. i gotta buy case a decent case and UPS (have the APC 500VA in mind) within 4k.
will the UPS handle the entrie rig?? wid the monitor and all????i only need a backup of 15 minutes.

You've made some good choices. Since you are only spending about 38k of your budget on this setup, i would urge you to go the AM3+DDR3 way to ensure support for future AM3 processors. Higher clocked RAM has always done well for AMD and so the DDR3 won't be a wasted expense either(1333Mhz sticks should be in the sweet spot)

Read my last post again, i think you missed some parts, i have made suggestions for the case etc.

I recommend getting OCZ reaper 1333MHz DDR3 4gb ram with CL6. Most packs have CL9 so you can imagine the amount of performance difference.

Do you really need this? Will you upgrading your display in the near future? (like 5-6 months). if no then you shoudnt go with 4870..better get 4770 (or equivalent. For eg. hd 4850 ) and save 4k. If you are not planning to upgrade ur display in the near future, new dx11 compatible, faster, less energy hungry and more economical cards will be widely available within 1 yr (or less).

About APC 500, well I too have a 19" display but with a hd 4670 and things are fine for me with that UPS. The manual says if you have a 19" monitor, the backup will last ~12mins. Dunno whether it will be able to support ur config (reason -- HD 4870) but it even could. Try APC 600 or something equivalent.

Well, why does everyone suggest APC alone here? APC is a good company but that doesn't mean others are just pure junk
