Default Red bleed-through on Lcd monitor

I recently observed that there is some red bleedthough on my lcd monitor.
Its noticeable when playing movies, and if there is no wallpaper and i make the background black.

Comes in the top left hand side and middle lower portion of the screen near the monitor buttons.

previously these werent there to best of my knowledge.

I tried to lower the red color and it goes if the red color is set to around 70. but screen looks bluish and colours look unnatural. monitor is in warranty till feb 2010 i think.

Is the monitor panel dying or is the tube inside dying?

Edit: monitor is viewsonic vx2025wm.

check if its happening in BIOS to rule out a OS/driver fault... try the monitor on another PC/Laptop.....

use a utility like Test your LCD Monitor or PassMark MonitorTest - Test monitors and LCD flat panel screens and verify. if the issue can still be noticed, RMA!

@rajivnairr, this can be seen even while windows has not booted.

@axeman, is it a valid point for RMA? i mean reading the conditions on the site, they mention rma only for > 7 dead pixels in panel. there is only 1 dead pixel in the panel right now.

there's nothing written about bleedthrough though.

Sad, your LCD monitor is starting to show back bleed which is due to uneven distribution of back light on the LCD panel, may be reason is bad back-light driving circuit. Try adjusting brightness to minimize bleed otherwise as other suggested, RMA is the best option with solid reason faulty circuit / LCD panel.

well its kinda easy to get an RMA with viewsonic... atleast it was for me... just give them a call on there tech support line and they would send an "engineer" to your place... you just have to convince him to believe that this is serious (I cant watch movie n play games and my friends samsung lcd is so freakinnn amazinnn)and he would then speak with his office to get a replacement or atleast a repair...

the engineer came today and couldn't do anything about it. said that if i went for replacement i will get only TN panel on the same monitor which i didn't want. so just got the issue closed there.

will let the monitor die on its own before i get a new one, hopefully better panels than Tn will be there at that time.

I doubt that.
Try getting a new replacement panel for now.
