The Q6600 should be just a shade under 10k.
A quad-core obviously packs in more horsepower than a dual-core. Whether you should upgrade to it, depends on the kind of apps you run and whether they scale well with multiple cores.

When ?? After 6-8 months ?? that time Nehalem will be mainstream, and 40% faster than current Yorkfields. So dont plan too far, buy best in todays date, nothing favours Quad except Unreal engine right now. Currently any CORE architecture CPU @ 3.2 or above aint any bottlenecck for any single GPU solution.

I am postponing my purchase due to price cut & non availability of parts.

Hope the price cut from intel is effective soon

Folks what is the main difference between ,

Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H
and
Gigabyte GA-MA78GPM-DS2H

any Price and performance difference?

After price cut how much is the E7200 expected to retail for?
and Does Athlon X24800+ supports 1066 mhz memory modules?

Hey if you can increase your budget littile above 4K you can bag World's one and only CM 690 @ 4250/- for SMPS I again vote for Extreme Power 600 Watt @ 3400 but again suggestion is to go for true power like Real Power Pro 550 W as your card is 9800!

I am planning to buy Asus P5Q Pro, and Processor Q6600
I am also buying ATI HD4850 GPU
So what i want to know, is extra powered SMPS is really needed
If so how much what watt would be better. I am not planning to add another GPU as cross fire as of now. So power supply for one card is enough for now.
So what will be best SMPS if I need it and how much watt.
Also I want to know is there big diffrence between normal cabinets and cooler master cabinets and is there any advantage. Please reply, because i am planning to purchase system this week itself
