I have an old Epson LQ 300 dot matrix Printer which has a parallel port. I am currently using this printer with my old desktop with windows 98 OS. But recently i got a laptop and have Vista and XP in dual boot mode. Now i need to use this dot matrix printer with the laptop. I did find one parallel to USB connection cable in anupam stationary store which cost 325 bucks. But the guy said that the same will not work with vista and even for XP, i will need to download driver as they are not supplied with it.

Please suggest me a good cable and preferable a brand too so that i can easily spot one and buy it.

If anyone of you have personally used such a cable then please provide your inputs
