NVidia BSOD's

I have a GeForce PCX 5300 Graphics Card.

Some days back i started getting BSOD's. These follow no particular pattern as such. They come at any point. The blue screen stays for about < 1 sec, not enough for me to even read the details. When the PC restarts i allowed Windows to send the error to get some details. It stated there that there is unknown device driver which could not handle some exception leading to Stop Error 0x00.

I checked for rootkits and kernel level loggers etc, but came with nothing. I then downloaded all recent drivers for NForce 4 Chipset and GeForce ( 91.31 ) both from NVidia's site. Removed the old drivers, removed old files with Driver Cleaner and installed only the SMBus and the Ethernet Driver which are both WHQL. Also installed GeForce drivers ver. 91.31.

Again the BSOD came and upon sending the error, MS stated that this has to do with Threads not handled by NVidia Drivers. They had 2 solutions.

1. Install Latest Hardware

2. Reduce Hardware Acceleration.

I already had the latest drivers so reduced hardware acceleration. I had to keep it off to stop getting BSOD's.

Any thing else i can do to solve this problem ?

Other times i can play CSS with no issues 1024x768. But the BSOD's are very random.

Hmm I would suggest to install an older driver , just for testing purposes

If you want to read that BSOD properly , go to System Properties->Advanced tab-> click on settings under "Startup and Recovery" and untick 'Automatically restart' option . try booting with some other working RAM ..

Which older driver would u suggest ??

And what is write combining ?? I disabled it and now no BSODs for some time.

i think its the issue with the nvidia Lan port, if u r using it i.e, u r using ultra-d rite? So use the marvell port.

Ya i am using NVidia Ethernet Port. Is the issue with that ??

it might not be the GFX drivers... I run an Nforce 2 board, and if i update the GART drivers.... BOOM!... BSOD:@ it took me one replaced TV tuner, several months of agony , and one windows reinstall to figure it out... The tech support from our local assembler was furious .. he asked me who the hell asked me tu update the drivers without asking them:S

btw, my GFX drivers are also stuck at detonator 56.72... later versions cause a lot of artefacting....
