so im thinking ill go in for a memory upgrade and an Aftermarket cooler for like 2k-2.5k & ne Idea what cooler fits best in a Zebronics Bijli i can dismantle the fans that came with the machine or should i opt for a tower change like a CM 690 ?
coz my tower is fairly small and not much cooling as well?
You won't have a problem fitting stuff into the Bijli, it may not be the best cabinet around but it's still pretty good. Don't spend money on a new cabinet if you don't have to.
Get the OCZ Vendetta 2 for about 2.5k or so.

Heh it seems you have some cash and have the urge to get some hardware, happens to all of us. I dont know if the E8200 is still in production so u may get a 8400 as a replacement which is a 3 ghz processor and very good for gaming.

8800-> 9800 you really wont feel a difference that will be worth your investment.

Cards that would be a decent investment for you would a be a Core 216/4870.

At a little less than 15k there are 4890's and if you like overclocking etc thats a beast of a card to get.

But the thing is WHY ?

Why do you feel you need to upgrade ? Are you playing a game thats not running to your satisfaction ?

Id suggest saving the money hang on for 6 months by then DX11 cards will be here.

Take a call then if there are games out that need a more powerful GPU you can then go for a GTX 285 should be quite affordable then.

i7 prices should be a tad more affordable at that point as well.

Ok ppl new prob now my pc froze early saturday morning as a result of which my pc is now dead. Ill have u know tht i will correspond via mobile phone henceforth ok sitrep is as follows a cmos reset has failed.i reseated the power connectors & memory then the proc......i suspected overheating so i went out and purchased a sunbeam ccf 92mm after which all hell broke loose. Machine responds to lack of memory when memory is removed with a single continuous beep.machine beeps in a relatively weird fashion i swear it sounds like an ambulance when everything is plugged in which is strange cos the beeps for the memory are correct i swapped the stock heatsink back on but it was still the same.............i honestly dont know if its the proc or the board............help!!!

Not only that, i sell everything you need for a new core i7 config(X58mobo,i7920 D0, Tri channel DDR3), HD 4770's, GTX 260's and copies of Windows 7 RC that you can otherwise freely download from the net etc...
PM me for anything you need, i'll get you some good deals
But only keep it between us cause i don't want to buy dealer subscription on TE.

@bakanoname
Damn. That sounds bad. Tell you what, if you really think so many things could be the issue it's hard to troubleshoot. Is there any TE member closeby to where you are located? Best thing to do is to get a friend's hardware and check every component individually. Don't just give up on the whole thing saying it's dead etc. Good luck.

Try to isolate the issue firstly, I doubt the CPU has died as since the last 10 years I have hardly found a CPU dying.
As posted by you, I think the board is at fault. The E8xxx series CPU's are pretty darn good with 6mb L3 cache's, apparently games are more cache dependent then cores at least at present. You dont need to spend to upgrade atthe moment, just buy a cheap G31 board for the time being, and sell your RMAed board. That ways you will not be without a system, plus you can invest that 20k in better ways.

Sadly members, in this forum are "bent" on recommending the right config, without considering if its required too. As i mentioned earlier, a CPU does not die in normal circumstances, its mostly the board or the RAM's which are culprits.
