I have seen many threads where we try to steer the OP to go for DDR3. The reasoning is that DDR3 prices will come down while DDR2 will go up. On the other side, DDR2 supporting Mobos are much cheaper.
My take is, if the owner is going to populate his RAM to the capacity he finally needs, why should he worry what DDR 2 will cost tomorrow? The saving in Mobo is significant.
