If you have a quad core processor, don't buy i5 now. Wait for p55 board prices to come down.

Else,
core i5-750- 10.5k,
mobo- MSI P55 GD65- 10.5k,
ram- GSkill 2x2GB DDR3~5.5k,
Monitor- for 1920x1080, dell s2209w- 9k,
Cabinet- Cooler master gladiator- 4k,
Total~ 39.5k.
Spend remaining amount for Nvidia's Dx11 card and suitable psu.
Ati's cards' prices should really come down when nvidia's dx11 cards are unleashed.

Sell ur Q6600 first

Nvidia mainstream launches in March 2010.

If u can w8 then w8, if not then

Cpu- core i5-750- 10.5k
mobo- Gigabyte GA P55M UD2 - 7k
ram- Transcend 2x2gb 1333mhz DDR3 -5k
Monitor- Samsung 23" P2350 - 11.5k
Cabinet- CM 590 - 4k
Psu- Corsair TX 650 - 6.8k
Gpu- Ati 5850 - 17k
Total - 60k

Lastly i5 750 outperforms i7 920 @ price, power consumption,gaming,heat dessipation

@Gowt1ham: i7 920 costs approx. 4k more. That money can be invested in a better card. Performance difference between two in gaming is negligible.

Gigabyte P55M-UD2 doesn't support SLI. It supports crossfire at just x4.

Thx guys I am not willing to wait any more than November end... So I will go with ATI config...
I hope ATI 5850 can handle games at 1920x1080 and I am also going to miss nvidia physx...

Hi,
I was just looking at ATI 5850 benchmarks and crossfire gives a major fps boost in some games...
Radeon HD 5850 review (CrossfireX)

So I might add another one of these cards in future, and as you say it just supports crossfire in 4x mode, i.e. both pci x slots will work at 4x when they can work at 16x. Should I buy a better motherboard which will give me better crossfire support.

MSI-P55-GD65 supports both SLI and crossfire at x8 speeds. It costs around 10k. It has more number of expansion slots too and offers better overclocking performance. You can go through its reviews once.

Hi,
This is the configuration that i seem inclined towards,

MSI-P55-GD65 10.7 K
Processor: Intel Core i5 750 - 10.5k
RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 - 5k
Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5 @ 17.4k
Cabinet: CoolerMaster 690 - 4.5k
Corsair TX 650 @ 6.8k
Monitor- Samsung 23" P2350 - 11.5k

So it will cost me 66.4 but it seems worth it.

Go with the gigabyte mobo , not point in spending 3k more. Dosen't make any logic to spend 3k more

dude, he wants to crossfire in the future and crossfire at x4 would be a waste of the second card and in the near future, he would not get a brand new mobo supporting x8 for just 3k. So, its better to spend that 3k more now, gd 65 has also got a lot of expansion slots and many reviewers have termed it even better than the gigabyte P55m-ud4.
