Default Gaming rig for 50k~

Ok,so my bro is going to get himself a decent gaming pc for around 50k.Hes been using a laptop upto now, so he has no previous items except for a 1tb external hd) So he came to me for advice and this is wat i could muster up

Proc - Intel core i5-750 (2.66Ghz) - 10.5k
MB - GA-P55M-UD2 - 6.5k
Ram - Corsair 2*2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 5k
HDD - Seagate 500gb (he already has a 1tb external hdd) - 2.5k
Optical drive - Some good company(need suggestions?) - around 1k
UPS - Some good ups (need suggestions?) - around 1k
Monitor - Dell 19'' - 6k

Upto here,im fairly certain..now i really need advice on the remaining items.

Graphics card - ATI HD 5850 1gb GDDR5 - 17.5k (will this fit in my budget?)
Cabinet -??
SMPS - Corsair VX450 - 4k (would this be enough?)
Thats 54k ,w/o a cabinet

or would i jus be better off going for a HD 4870/4890 and reving up the rest of the items (like a good cabinet,a better monitor, better smps). The reason for the 5850 is the directx11 support and once this pc has been bought no upgrades for a long time. Also do you think i should wait for nvidias directx 11 cards??

So,basically my questions are
1)Is the HD5850 really worth it,for me to be spending that much extra and reducing a lot of other components
2)Should i wait for nvidias directx11 cards?
3)In case 5850 isnt in my budget, should i look at other nvidia cards or go for the 4890/4870?
3)Is the Corsair VX450 sufficient to handle this PC
4)What would be a good cabinet? Since my MB is a micro ATX one, should i try for a smaller/cheaper one?
5)Any way for me to reduce costs so that i can include my 5850

I know im asking for way too much for the 50k im willing to spend. This is just for my satisfaction, If you guys tell me its not possible ill have to no choice but to take the 4890/4870 and reduce my costs.

Thanks in advance to everyone!

You could save around 2-3k if you go with an amd setup and for games you will not find much of a difference in performance.
Go atleast with cm 690 as 5850 is a bit large and cm 690 would provide decent airflow and ability to add lot's of fans. smaller cabby for 5850? not advisable. And if you plan to get core i5, remember it comes with a crap cooler, would advise you to go with hyper tx3 atleast even if you dont plan to overclock. keeps temps around 50 and is quieter.

vx 450 should be enough to handle 5850, could go with something only if planning to use cf later.
nvidia seems not to release their card till late Jan. Willing to wait till then?
If it's for gaming, I would go with 5850 even if I have to sacrifice on cpu, but that's just my opinion.
19" monitor for 5850 is a good joke though

Regarding 5850:
Bro its a new breed. And it doesn't have competition. And if you are going to consider the green camp's offering you'll have to wait till feb '10

What i'll do...get a 4350 or an old 4850 for now and wait for the dust to settle down. Cas even those 100$ cards when lands on our shore it costs close to 200$. and by then nvidia's fermi will be out.

And one more thing 5850 is a beast...believe me...if you don't have an intel i5 or i7 or amd p2 x4...will bottleneck the card's true performance.

vx450:
it has more potential than wat's given on that rating sticker. It can even power a gtx280 with a hdd or two and some moderate oc'ing. I won't consider 5870 for comparison, cas it has lower tdp..

cabby:
people even change their cabby every month. (E.x:anks ) IMO i wud prefer to have my modded zebby elegance over the haf or cm690 which costs close to 6k to 4k. and i can spend that hard earned money on increasing the performance. If i'm going get a 5870 might consider ditching that cabby but till then its gonna stay with me.

5850 and 19"

CM 590 has better HDD cooling than CM 690.

If u spend Rs 600 more for CM 690 then i guess u shud also Change PSU to Corsair VX 550 for 5.3k huh ?

Since ur budget is extending to 55k anyways i wud suggest go with core i5 rig sacrificing a little on cabinet.

Cpu - Intel core i5-750 (2.66Ghz) - 10.2k
Mobo - GA-P55M-UD2 - 6.5k
Ram - Transcend 2*2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 5k
HDD - Seagate 500gb - 2.2k
Optical drive - Samsung/LG DVD writer - 1k
Monitor - Benq 22" G2200 HD - 8k
Graphics card - ATI HD 5850 1gb GDDR5 - 17k
Cabinet - Cooler Master Elite 334 - 2.1k
SMPS - Corsair VX 550 - 5.1k / GlacialPower 650W - 4.6k
Total - 56.5k/56k

It wud be wise even if you spend 6.5k more.

Core i5 is much better than any amd rig though it costs more , spending on it will ensure peace of mind and will be futureproof

Gigabyte P55 UDM2 is better than Intel P55WB (it limits rams to 1333mhz only).

Wud be wise to spend .5k more on Gigabyte P55 UDM2.

I think i5 setup is much better keeping in mind everybody is quoting 55k for AMD rig.

If its not urgent i suggest you wait till jan3 before finalising your rig. Before that the DX11 GPU prices will stabilize and Intel will also release its new 32nm Clarkdale processors(i-3 and i-5).

hmm wow, thanks a lot for the replies guys!!

So the hd5850 is worth it!
well um i forgot to mention one thing...the monitor im getting is kinda to be a second monitor,my bro has a 32'' 720p lg tv in the room. But i guess for the extra 2k you could get a full hd 22'' which would be better.

hmm 55k, is out of my budget i guess. Ill talk with my brother and let you guys know what he says. Guess ill wait for a while for the prices to stablize and then get the 5850.

Is there a wide diff between the 4890 and the 5850?? cause the difference would be around 5k and it would fit my budget perfectly.

yes i do know about the cm690, my pc which i bought around 2 years back is using a cm 690 and it does keep things cool. But since my bro has no interest in overclocking, would this be an overkill? what about the i5s heat heating issues?? (im kinda leaning towards intel rather than amd

Thanks a lot once again!!!!! ill let you guys know what im planning to do by the end of today

Okay,thanks a lot guys,your suggestions have helped a lot!!!
so heres my final config with a few doubts

these are costs at deltapage.com since thats in chennai, and its close to my house

Processor : Core i5 (2.66 ghz, 8mb L2cache ) - Rs. 10250
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 - Rs. 6750
Ram : Transcend 2*2gb DDR3 1333MHz - Rs. 5200 (Transcend is okay rite?)
Hard drive : Seagate 500GB - Rs. 2475
Optical drive : Sony 20xDVD Writer - Rs. 1100
Graphics Card : XFX ATI HD 5850 - Rs. 16850

ok,questions are basically in the remaining three.
SMPS : Corsair VX450 - Rs. 4100 (Doubt my budget will allow for vx550,will this handle it or should i downgrade something somewhere?)
Monitor :
Dell 21.5'' S2209 - Rs. 9250
Benq E2200 - Yet to get a quote(~8k)
which of these two would you recommend?? Dells customer service is supposed to be good, but then benq seems to have the better monitor..Really confused here.

Cabinet :
cooler master elite 334 - Rs. 2100
is this enough for my rig??

If this is good enough, comes to 57,750 with the dell monitor and 56,500 with the benq. Please do tell me what i should do.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR SO MUCH HELP.LOVE YOU ALL!!
