^^ If price difference is like 1k then go for Dell one.
700mb DVD Rips always looks bad on HD monitors.
Which one is better -
Dell s2209w @9.5k or
samsung 2233sw @10.5k?
How is the clarity of 700mb dvdrip movies on these lcds. Or should i go for samsung 2033sw instead?
don know abt the Dell s2209w but dude bought samsung 2233sw yesterday for 9.7k ...and tell u dude it is superb

Dell s2209w Review
Samsung 2233sw Review
I recommend
Samsung 2233sw
Pros
Full HD resolution, superb image quality, great design, excellent colour and contrast, non-glossy screen, no visible ghosting during fast motion
Cons
No HDMI, no included DVI cable, poor vertical viewing angles, ball-hinge stand design.
Final
Samsung's SyncMaster 2233SW may lack HDMI connectivity, but this LCD monitor remains a great choice for the home and office thanks to a stylish design and great image quality.
samsung one is the better one with good precaliberations done on the manufacturers part
dell support/service can be good... but samsung is good too
warm regards

Can someone confirm on the clarity thing?
They won't look good on hiDef monitors. Are you sure normal legit DVDs will look good on Hi definition monitors? Aren't HD DVDs required to show picture at 1080?

DVDs look good on a 22" as well. HD blows everything in terms of picture quality.
The screen would matter much less to the picture clarity. What would matter is ur source or the rips u would be using. 700mb are crap for a HD monitor or any large screen monitor.
Get atleast 2GB rips or best start getting HD rips...![]()

That means your GPU is not taking the load off the CPU. Try playing it on GOM player and while installing specify properly when it asks in the setup wizard. You can also try with PowerDVD which is supposed to be very good. In any case its a software issue.Originally Posted by mjumrani
