    Well guys,

Since my OLD Samsung SyncMaster 793s CRT is giving me problems with displaying a tinted yellow color over the screen which is really irritating

I have finally planned to buy a new LCD

Since iam low on budget,I have selected the Samsung 2033SW

Any other good LCD within the range of 7-8k

Also wanted to know the difference between samsung 2033SW and 2233SW

    Just the size difference ?

    Thoughts ...

Naah.. 4850 can handle Full HD. Its just that in some games like Crysis, u have to play in lower settings, otherwise 4850 is fine.

What i meant is, as the resolution keeps going up, the framerate is gonna come down

so, your 4850 though is a good card cant keep up with good framerates with all the AA and AF, high textures etc at this resolution for much longer

games like GTA4 and Crysis will lag at 1920 but will play smoothly at 1440 with your card, unless many of the visual settings are toned down

Else why would people invest their arm is getting the best gfx cards out there

then all the more reason to get E1909W

bcoz monitors look their best at native resolution

and reducing resolution to such extent is only going to degraded the visuals

on the other question, am not sure, perhaps others can help

    Samsung 2033 >> Resolution: 1600 x 900

    Power Consumption: 37 Watts

    Samsung 2233 >> Resolution: 1920 x 1080

    Power Consumption: 40 Watts

All other technical specs are same and u already know the screen size of both.

Would recommend not to waver away from the current choice:

Samsung 2033SW (1600x900) : Excellent for Movies, Superb otherwise

Dell E1909W (1440x900) : Excellent for Gaming, Superb otherwise

Both are excellent monitors which superb color reproduction, 5ms response time (typical).

Both have the Best A.S.S. in the country and come with a 3-year warranty.

Hmmm, wht about the Dynamic Contrast Ration between the 2 monitors

    Samsung 2033SW has a DCR of 15,000:1

While AOC has a DCR of 60,000:1

Does that affect your viewing ?

afaik...a superior DCR shows effects wen viewing scenes that contain a high percentage of black..scenes that go over sum time. tht too wen ur room is not lit.

this might be a test case type of a situation. hence a DCR figure shouldnt really be influencing ur decision in my opinion.

anyone...plz correct me if im wrong.

Being an AOC user for over an yr now i can say that AOC ASS is top class, but the IQ is not as good as Samsung panels. Stick to the 2033sw.
