TehDevil is somewhat of a mystery
Default Torrents going slow.

Hello.

I have a weird problem. Before I mention the problem, I'd like to say what client I use and what sites I get the .torrent files from. I use uTorrent and get my .torrent files off Mininova or Torrentspy for the majority of the time.

Well, here's the problem - I'm on a Sify Unlimited Downloads 256k line. My problem is that my torrent downloads go very slow. Although this happens only at morning times. After 9 in the night, my downloads go at the max possible speed which is 30 KB/s for my connection. I'd like to achieve a transfer speed of 30 KB/s even at morning/afternoon times and I'd like to know how I can do that. Should I mess around with the settings to achieve these speeds? If so what should I change? Advice please.

PS

Whenever I download video reviews and trailers from sites such as Gamespot and Gametrailers, I'm able to download at 30 KB/s, even at morning times. However this is not the case with torrents.

Please help.

for a start, you should tweak your BT client settings to try to max your connection speed. here's a useful guide:
9 BitTorrent how-to’s | TorrentFreak

also, u may not be maxing out your connection speed because you're DLing public torrents off Mininova/Torrentspy, which usually don't have good seed/leech ratio. try getting on private trackers like demonoid, which tend to have better seeded torrents.

Enable encryption in your client (uTorrent/Azureus)
It will solve your problem..its coz your ISP is throttling torrent traffic

Doesn't encryption only work if the entire swarm has it enabled? Otherwise you won't see any data transfer at all, slow or fast.
