Who here is on ASUS P5B Dlx + E8400 ?

Just wanted to know what are the best overclocks one has obtained from the same setup. Planning to go in for a E8400 from E6400 which can do 3.2GHz on air with 1.35 Volts...

This board will even go even 600 FSB if chip can take it under DICE or LN2.

So dont worry about the board

You are limited by how much you are ready to push and at what voltages

How are the temps there? you can easily get 4+G stable on air with that board.

How good/bad was the chip which you passed me funky...

its the one of the best, and arguably the best stepping that made it to India till date.

Should do 4.05G just fine at 1.38v - 1.40v ( real under load, bios setting will depend on vdroop and vdrop )

4320@ 1.4250

That was was I was able to get from my chip.
It might be bit difficult to maintain temps above 4.1G though. If you always use it under AC it should be ok.

@ Funky, you forgot to mention the number Volt mods needed to get that 600+ FSB
Also a correction, for 600 I dont think DICE/LN2 is needed. From what I have seen people are getting 600+ with all air setup too (offcourse VMODDED)

But yeah overall this setup can get you decent overclocks.

Even without vmods, he will hit wall on CPU first using air. Temps will go really nuts on air after 4.2-4.3G.
My 4.8G run was chilled air run with ac max settings blowing air on the cpu lol.

The P35 chip would certainly beat the P965 chip in terms of head-to-head performance. Well, its another fact that high FSBs're possible with the P5B Deluxe.

I did 525FSB benchable and 480FSB or so perfectly stable on my Q746A on air, unmodded. Both at the maximum 9 multiplier. This is one killer board. Its kinda unbelievable that such an old board can still hang on to the latest CPUs so well.

You talking about P5N32 E Sli or P5B Dlx

IIRC, he had the P5B-Dlx and moved to the P5N32 when he bought the 2 8800 Ultra's
