reinstall windows 7 or do system restore. Probably something got messed up.![]()
Windows 7 x64 build 7000
The Computer is regularly freezing since last 5 days, I loose mouse pointer the internet traffic stops, I cant do any thing then after 4-5 mins it works as usual & next 15-20 mins all remains fine before it happens again.
Antivirus is installed so virus doing any mischief is ruled out since I scanned the C: drive.
I checked up the windows event log report & found this error
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.
So I plugged out the sata cable from the DVD rom assuming thats creating this freeze but it still doing the same random freezing.
What else could be the problem, its a dual boot so I checked up with XP pro & the same hardware works fine without any problems.
reinstall windows 7 or do system restore. Probably something got messed up.![]()
System restore will best work for you.
hmm strange things happening to me too.. Windows 7 gets stuck at the loading screen sometimes. then i have to power down, boot in safe mood and then restart and boot normally to get it going.

Never happens to me. BTW I found 7077 much better than 7000. I guess 7100 will be even better
windows7 7100 is said to be windows 7 RC version. It will be conformed in few days.Originally Posted by nitant
all you good folks reporting problems: are you using win7 official download (currently only build 7000 beta) or some unofficial download? 7000 (official download) working fine and dandy for me

I am using official beta 7000, strange thing is that when I wanted to do system restore it does not show any restore point where as I myself had created a restore point, seems something messed up the restore points.
I will have to reinstall it so will wait for the official RC1
using build 7077 and till now havend faced any probs.
On careful inspection I found that 1 of my seagate hdd is making phip phip phip phip phip phip sound this is a continuous sound coming as if while spinning its getting scratched by something. It stops for few mins only then it starts again.
Is my hdd failing thus causing the OS to hang?
I have seagate 1.5Tb disk too but my serial was not in the list of effected disk.
