OK...so i figured out a way to extract the bootsectors of cd roms to a bin file using Barts' boot image extractor..only thing is when i write it to the usb..the usb filesystem gets corrupt & it would need to format

Are you saying you don't have a floppy drive ?

Find a friend who does and then follow :

Hiren's BootCD From USB Flash Drive (Pen Drive) - www.hiren.info

I created a DOS bootable USB using the Transcend utility on Win Me ( you don't need a floppy with Me/9x ). And then more or less followed instructions in the link above.
2012 ! The end is near.

I had earlier found this article which talks about an HP app... Although I didnt find this app anywhere now... But just look at the checkmark which says "Create a DOS startup disk"... Does this work??

Also later on it says, after the format is complete... u need to copy the boot.ini, ntldr and ntdetect files to the USB...and it should be ready to boot... I havent tried it but can this be so simple?? (Just copy-paste)
