well there is a site apart from autopatcher where updates are available for download. it works just like windows update but its compatible with Mozilla Firefox , Netscape , Mozilla Firebird , Opera and K-meleon.

The updates are available a while after MS releases them.Apart from the normal security updates additional updates are also available on the site.For now there is no wga check there(planning on implementing soon).This is for those users who dont want to use IE for windows update

well .. now i own a genuine copy .. though its pirated ... literally ... pm me .. coz i don't think i can post that stuff here .... or can i ??

actually...if u r part of the Vista CPP then u could have a valid working version of windows. Using that u can download all the patches and stuff that require WGA. Then u can run the patch on ur dual-booting XP....

Im sure a lot of ppl are doing it... I guess MS should allow only patches being downloaded from the OS, the patches are made to work on !!

But even then ... its even more fun to have both genuine WinXP and Vista ...

n00b question...BTW...whats wrong with Autopatcher ?

With autopatcher you have to download all the updates, however with windows update you only get the updates that you need.

also with windows update u get access to latest drivers. The only other selling point.

Like i said ... it not only about the update ... but even with software that require validation u won't need the alternative method ... got a full proof method here ....
