KDE for Desktops, Tablets and Mobiles?

See Qt Labs Blogs Tokamak 4, the KDE Plasma meeting…

    and [Kde-maemo] KDE Platform Mobile

I was also exiting to work on the new “project” launched couple of weeks ago : the Plasma-mobile project. The scope of this project is to bring Plasma and by extension KDE technologies on mobile phones. Plasma has already a dedicated user interface for desktop and netbook (The netbook shell) but a new baby will join the family.

    ...

These guys rocks, at the end of the meeting they had a very nice plan : basically a KDE for Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile.

KDE, Qt is simply steamrolling onwards... and with this new MeeGo stuff (Intel + Nokia collaboration) at least it looks like we wont be stuck with a limited choice (N900) !

Some more Tokomak 4 related links I came across by blogroll:

Cool, But I still think KDE devs should focus only on desktop and netbook interfaces and work towards making them more stable, robust and bug-free.

Sure, though of course, its mostly the same codebase that is shared everywhere, just that Desktop is the max, Netbook skips some bits, and Mobile version will drop some more unneeded bits... like in the links above they are discussing splitting up the core "kdelibs" in to separate modular pieces so that Mobile version does not pay the penalty of loading all the Desktop stuff it does not need.

Also you see, if they get it working smoothly and optimally on Mobile then it will simply FLY on the desktop version

Looks really awesome, so slick yet subtle. I believe these are for large screen mobiles and MIDs.
