You need to remove the old repo and then add new one. Pretty much useless I would say. Waste of download and might end up with dead distro![]()
Hi all,
It's been quite a while since I've used linux and I'm back to using it nowAs of now, I've installed Linux Mint Celena Gnome edition. I had created an AptOnCD and honestly it saved a LOT of bandwidth and time. As of now, I need to install my NVidia driver and I've downloaded the latest driver. But unfortunately, it says the libc is missing. Wanted to install it, but since this distro is not supported anymore, the repos are missing. I just want to add the latest repository in the Synaptics manager and then update whatever I want.
I tried adding the new repository of Karmic Koala, but it's not accepting. The method followed was, go to http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dis...86/Packages.gz and add it in the Synaptics manager. I know I'm doing some silly mistake and it's not allowing the repository to be updated and 404-ing on me
Please help an 'old' linux user![]()

updating mint with new ubuntu repo is not good idea imo.
try switching to ubuntu instead if you are familiar with your mint distro..it wont be much different and the possibility customize and tweak can be taken to a greater horizon.

Thanks for the replies guys, but I want to update just because I want to install the nVidia drivers, backup my data and then replace my hard drive. Windows dead as of nowCan't risk formatting the Windows partition.
