Lava is introducing a new smartphone running on Android 4.0. And no, this isn’t a cheaper version of the Lava Xolo X900 (that we are waiting for by the way, Lava please hear us!). The Lava Iris comes after the launch of the Lava A700 smartphone. The Iris N400 however, is targeting a different price bracket altogether.
Lava Iris N400
The Lava Iris N400 is being introduced into the same price bracket as the recently released Karbonn A15. The Karbonn A15 is the company’s cheapest smartphone to pack a 4″ display and Android 4.0 ICS, as well as pack 512 MB of RAM. All that under Rs. 5,900 and you know why we are calling it a good deal indeed. Have a look at the specifications:
- 1 GHz ARM Cortex A5 CPU
- Adreno 200 Enhanced GPU
- 4″ WVGA (800*480) Capacitive display
- 512 MB of RAM
- Dual SIM (3G + 2G)
- 5 MP autofocus camera, LED flash
- 0.3 MP VGA front facing camera
- 1,500 mAh battery
- Android 4.0 ICS
As you can see, the Lava Iris N400 is indeed a better option compared to the Karbonn A15. Packing the same 4″ WVGA display, 512 MB of RAM and the chipset (CPU + GPU), the Lava N400 packs a superior 5 MP camera with LED flash as well. The VGA front facing camera enables video calling.
We really like the Lava Iris N400′s design. Simply, and somewhat looks like a Rs. 10,000 smartphone, when really the device is priced at Rs. 6,399 only.

The Lava Iris N400 can be purchased off Flipkart and Snapdeal, both selling at Rs. 6,399. For those looking for a mid ranger, I’d say go for this device!
