Default Some Networking queries

  1. How to make a Linux computer part of the same Workgroup as the Windows machine so as to share the Windows share? For shares, is Samba the only way?
  2. Using Server 2K3 as the Server OS, can we make a linux machine a part of its Domain or Workgroup?
  3. Are the Group Policies of Domain users applicable on Linux machines too?
  4. Besides Putty, is there anyway else to perform a SSH session between Linux client and Windows host?
  5. Is it possible to create a Virtual network where a Windows client and a Linux client, both connect to a windows Server which in turns connect to actual network and control the Internet access on both clients? Virtualization here is being done via VMWare.
  6. I'm able to initiate and perform a RDP session from Vista onto a Windows 7 machine but not vice versa, why?
  7. Why can't I access my windows 7 machine via UltraVNC in Ubuntu 9.04? Do I need VNC server software running on the destination machine?
