I've decided to go for the WRT54G2 Router for my wimax connectivity in my new residence. Just wanted to check if anyone here has the same model?

I asked around and a couple of my friends happened to recommend this particular model but online sites have not really convinced me of its absolute prowess.

So can anyone shed more light on whether or not this is a good purchase, before i pick it up tomorrow?

I have elder sibling of said router i.e. Linksys WAG54G2 (with modem, other things same). Its performance is awesome. It is installed at 1st floor of my house and it works in my sprawling house including ground floor and front lawn. I would certainly recommend it based on my 8-10 months experience.

yea but for use with reliance wimax. The cable comes through their antenna and modem/power box.

Sheldon, I have the same router, and it works a treat. I get the signal all the way down to the ground floor on my Nokia, I live on the third floor. Setup is very easy and it has all sorts of sharing and routing options. In Mumbai my signal range was a little lower, but here in Cal the signal is strong all through the house.

The power adapter blew after a lightning storm, but the router was fine. I picked up a locally made power adapter and there have been no problems since.

    hey guys.. thanks all!

i finally went and got it & i really didnt expect to be up and running with it in less than 10mins!! Linksys configuration is a snap! surprisingly it even came with the latest firmware already installed!

and the signal is pretty awesome! While i'm still at my old residence currently, but definitely think it wont be any problem in my new one!

Thanks all! its a really neat router and i'd recommend it to everyone.
