It depends on your model...if u have a mobile listed here ...use this software...its pretty good for backup of sms, contacts and also helps tracking if your phone is lost...best thing its free for nokia india users (sadly select models)

Google Sync all the way ..

Uses opensyncML and is the most popular method to upload notes, calendar, contacts and calendars all over the world. Good luck.

i suggested wavesecure for my bro for his e65.

that app. heavily slowed his mobile.

it'd take a minute to go into contacts; messaging will take 2-3mins; other apps. used to take more time.

he installed it after updating firmaware, so at first we hought the f/w fooked the phone, but later told to him to uninstall wavesecure (troubleshooting )

the phone got its speed back.

wavesecure was running as hidden app., maybe the phone's proc. is not powerful enough to run it in background.

on n97, i have no prob. with wavesec.

Same as my eariler post .. There must be an option named "Remote sync" in your phone.

Go to http://www.google.com/mobile/product...html#p=default to confiigure your device.

you what the funny thing is:

processor in N97 is a single-core ARM 11 putting along at 434MHz, just 65MHz faster than the 5800XM with same amount of RAM(128MB).

Does Google Sync allow uploading contact details FROM mobile TO google? From what little I read on the site, it allows only one way syncing - that is, from Google to mobile and not the vice versa.

    Someone please clarify.

Try ZYB.Com. Havn't used them, but heard they are good.

I think Vodafone owns them now.

Zyb.com is pretty cool. Was using it on my N95 and now on my iPhone. Never had any issues with either phone on Zyb.

Tried Google Sync also. It works great. As someone mentioned already, synchronization is possible either way. Between Ovi and GSync, I'll go with GSync only because of the added convenience that my email account also gets updated. Otherwise both are pretty much same. :hap2:

Synced contacts with www.ovi.com (not Ovi Suite) and now there is a small problem. Suppose if a contact has more than one number assigned to it, then it shows only the first number. Anyone else facing this problem?

Edit - Also tried with Ovi Suite and facing the same problem.
