    FS: Desktops Intel i5-4570 + Intel DH87MC + 16GB Corsair Value Select + 120GB WD Green + TP Link Wi-FI

. This is a build I put together for my nieces while they were visiting, they've left now and I don't really have any need of this system. Processor has no issues and the memory has passed a full memtest. Wi-Fi card is also working well, but it was purchased many years ago. Unsure about SSD...

    FS: Desktops Intel i5-5675C (5th gen Broadwell) + MSI Z97 Guard Pro + 120GB Silicon Power A55

. This is one of the gems in my armada of systems so I'm reluctant to let go of it — I was saving this up to run macOS. The motherboard was received new from RMA in 2020 and was in use for about two years before being put away in storage (upgraded to DDR4) while the processor was purchased here...

Teardown & Rebuild of a MuscleGrid LiFePO4 Server Rack Battery

Yeah, I'm going to try with a UTL Inverter instead. Thanks for the data point, it's very helpful to know. I haven't personally tried it but someone has posted details on how to do this on another forum...

    Amazon India - Feedback Thread

I didn't have a return option in the order details page on the mobile app even though both orders were "10 days returnable". So I went through the customer service button (last option on the menu screen), selected "chat with us", selected the item/order, then return/exchange, and proceeded from...

    Amazon India - Feedback Thread

There is an easy way to make returns/refunds work that I've found through trial and error: always stay in chat, never go to calls. I've recently had to return two orders in the same month (damaged products) and both times, they asked me to wait until a certain date and when I followed up one day...

    Sonoff Alternatives??

I'm using a bunch of Sonoff Basics for automated outdoor lighting. They're wired in series with the wall switch for manual control. Tasmota is configured to turn on by default when power is supplied/restored. I'm not using timers on Tasmota. The automatic control is through Node-RED which...

Yeah it's practically almost new. It was unused for 12 of the last 13 years, put away in a box. Intel's P series chipsets at the time did not support video out, they were 'Performance' oriented and you would've had an add-in graphics card for this kind of system...

    Sonoff Alternatives??

The switch would need to be bypassed, or made 'dummy' as the electricians say in their speak/lingo. So the socket is always powered on and you would control your appliance through the wifi-plug's app or the switch that's on the smartplug itself. Does it need to be wifi controller/connected...

    FS: Desktops Intel Xeon 1220 V2 + Intel DP67BA + Zotac 210 1GB + 120GB KLEVV Neo

. One of my retired Proxmox nodes that I kind of forgot about. I found the motherboard at a dealer some years ago in a random box, they forgot they had it and it sat unsold for nearly ten years. It was unsold because the P67 chipset does not have any circuitry/connectors for video output, so...

    The EDC (Everyday Carry) Thread

That was me for all of my life up until now. I don't really need any of this, but it's nice to have and gives me something to fixate on while I'm trying hard not to think of pizzas or cheesecakes. I might have needed a screwdriver in just two situations in the last five years, and both times I...

    Laptops Unusual Ipad charging issue

If you're using the 20W Apple charger that the iPad came with then it's probably not the issue here. Apple chargers are manufactured to very high standards and it doesn't seem plausible that they would be susceptible to electrical inference or noise. However it does make sense that they would...

    Laptops Unusual Ipad charging issue

Try plugging in a socket tester to check for neutral and/or earth leakage. I've seen this behaviour in recent months where we'd have all three phases but no neutral. I don't fully understand how mains AC is supposed to work but we had things work without neutral and other things that wouldn't work.
