I guess you tried to overclock the RAM, and that didn't work out, so it might have defaulted to 1200MHz. @ze_cook might be right, but the RAM should be overclockable, at least by little. Try 2133MHz.

Search youtube with your motherboard model details, you should find videos or posts guiding you through it.

First, check the BIOS and see if you can change the RAM speed. And the CPU/Motherboard maximum RAM speed supported by the CPU/motherboard.
