48xx series opencl support is still in beta, and will never be as good as the gtx2xx...
choose the one with the better cooler? and 9800gtx+ should have the edge with the TWIMTPB titles.
4850 will do quite well if you are willing to voltmod it a little, otherwise I would go with the nvidian.

more than enough i think,the cards are rarely that much pcie bottlenecked with games,it's the gpgpu applications that tax the pcie bandwidth much more.

ati catalyst 9.5 is supposed to have official support for 4770 and will be released on 13th may.and 4670 is even worse than a 9600gt why whould you go for that?
i tried AA in mass effect,in xp though and it cut down my fps in half so i believe it was working.
try changing AI setting for the game profile,also ATT alone seems to do better than with CCC+ATT.i could force AA and AF in any game except gta4 by simply using ATT alone while it would sometimes...
