Default URGENT - Buying a laptop for mom.

I was looking to buy a laptop for my mom. The budget is upto 40k max but 38k would be ideal. So, I dragged Anuj (200mph) with me to NP and we shortlisted some models. We left out stuff like Acer 4736 since the brand and looks are important also. Two models that we finalised are:

Toshiba L510-D4012:

Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6600
(2.2 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB)
No Operating System
320 GB SATA HDD 5400 rpm
3 GB DDRII Memory
35.56 cms (14 Wide) LED Backlit HD Display
1366 x 768 Resolution
16:9 Aspect Ratio
Camera with Face Recognition
Intel® GM45 Chipset
Bluetooth V2.1 + EDR
Weight: Starting @ 2.26 kgs
802.11 b/g/n LAN
DVD Super Multi with DVD RAM Support + - R DL(SATA)
HDMI Port
Card Reader
2 USB Ports / 1 eSATA & USB Combo Port
Colour: Steel Gray Metallic with Breeze ID
Price: Rs. 37500

Compaq Presario CQ40-616TU
* Free DOS
* 14.1″ inch (1280×800 pixels) Widescreen LCD Display
* Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 Processor (2.2 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB)
* Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
* 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM
* 320GB Hard Disk
* DVD Writer
* WLAN 802.11 b/g
* High speed 56K modem
* Webcam with Integrated Microphone
* Altec Lansing Speakers
* 3 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA, 1 RJ-11, 1 RJ-45, 1 Stereo headphone-out, 1 Microphone in
* 6-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery with 65w adaptor
* Weight – 2.3 Kg
* 1 Year Warranty
Price: Rs. 34500

Now,
The Compaq has a lower price and more ram, but, the Toshiba has a 16:9 led screen, an esata port and wifi-N. The Toshiba looked better, so, Anuj and I thought that the Toshiba was fine. I'm buying the laptop tomorrow. Any suggestions? I left Dell out because the Inspiron was too thick and didn't have an hdmi port.

Why in the first place did you leave out Acer? I think the 4736z offers an excellent VFM deal.

How about Samsung? C2D Samsung 14" is about 31-32K.

Avoid compaq.

Go for a dell inspiron 15. Decent build quality and very good after sales supports.

^ I use a Dell Xps. Yes, their service is excellent, but I really didn't like the Inspiron. Bought the Toshiba yesterday.
